That's the big issue unfortunately for you guys. Lack of Champions League football will make it hard to replace him with anyone that good. Wouldn't be surprised to see you move for Benteke.

He's had an excellent season. If he continued that goal scoring form over the next few years I don't get how they'd achieve nothing with him as their best player.

Because they were built to basically give him the ball and let him shoot. That isn't successful Football. Yeah he may score or even get a brace from the 8 shots or so, but he makes no one else on the team much better really. That for me is what the best guy on a team needs to do ala Mata,Cazorla,RVP. Even Bale manages to make strikers like Adebayor look half decent :joker:

Brendan has brought in Sturridge, Coutinho, and (not confirmed yet but I'm including him) Aspas for less than £30m combined. I'm quite confident he'll find a good replacement for much less than the £40m we'll probably be getting. Actually not worried at all, think this will be better for us than him staying, eventhough he is our best player.
