The bottom reads the following: ‘Hello Marcus darling, I did the bridge going over the river because those are main attractions and what Newcastle is famous for, and to set the scene. I drew the new castle stadium and the ‘Meet the Footballers’ sign with the Newcastle football kit on because you like football. I put fellow Newcastle people walking down the red carpet to watch the game, I included Becky because you love her, and you were waiting to see her, whilst thinking about cats and dogs, as you love them too! You said you were smiley so you’re grinning big time. You like big girls and appreciate their beauty so I put a Plus Size model competition poster there too. You said you also liked chocolate and pop music so there’s signs for that too.

I really tried to capture the essence of your threads, the deep existentialism that exudes from every line, it was really hard going but I pushed on and gave birth to the stunningly frank depiction of your work.
Your appreciation leaves me humbled.
