Random but on Friday's episode why did Louise agree to watch a film with Bex that night but then she was in the car on the way to the airport like an hour later?

To hide the fact that she was fleeing the country from the police under suspicion of murder?

Jigs 29-01-2020 10:03 AM

Yeah but why agree to meet your friend if you know you have no intention of going...

It seemed odd. Like, just say you're busy.

Denver 29-01-2020 10:12 AM

Im guessing to avoid any type of suspicion

Denver 29-01-2020 10:13 AM

With Bex leaving an already filmed her final scenes

Spoiler:

Is she the canal death? maybe someone kills her to hurt Martin? Does she go to Portugal? does she kill herself? i guess Uni is unlikely as you cant go mid term?

Jigs 29-01-2020 10:18 AM

Spoiler:

Bex's relationship with Martin/Sonia seems to be becoming really fractured lately so perhaps she goes to Ireland to stay with Dot and will eventually return as a new actress?

So the boat death is looking like

Spoiler:

Bex, she pretty much spoiled it by saying her exit is very dramatic and Wet

Marsh. 29-01-2020 03:44 PM

I saw that.

Either...

1) the actress really is that thick and spoiled it
2) she's said it on purpose which means we can be certain it is not her that dies
3) she dies but not on the Thames

I'm convinced the Thames stuff will be the Keanu showdown and the death will occur on the square. The boat party being a diversion.

I'm not sure I'm really fond of Linda's storyline? Just the sheer haste of it and the lack of substance to it.

To avoid questions, I suspect. She left in a hurry.

Ammi 30-01-2020 04:14 AM

....yeah, I agree Ashley...I guess that’s how soaps are though, they have to accelerate these storylines...but her ‘descent’ into alcoholism and decline of her family life hasn’t really shown any heart to it at all...

Amy Jade 30-01-2020 06:22 AM

I see what you are both saying, I honestly do and this isn't a dig at you but I feel sorry for the soaps a bit because if they showed us the real lengths and time frame of these things people say it's being dragged out too so they can't please us all.

I saw people saying the Whitney stalking storyline was dragging too and of that were accurate to stalking it'd be Whitney dealing with him for years never mind a few months lol

...I think with Linda (...for me...)...it’s more that I’m feeling an absence of depth and heart...all soap storylines are accelerated because they have to be...?..but many still convey all of the emotional depths that they need to, to also make things have a relatability....?...I want to feel for Linda and I want to feel for her family as well...but I don’t really as much as I should and want to...as much as I feel the writers have written for me to.../...if that makes sense...but I’d feel all of those things for Whitney’s storyline atm though...

Jigs 30-01-2020 09:33 AM

I'm loving Linda's storyline. EE are doing a great job of making me feel how harrowing/frustrating/complex the entire issue of alcoholism is. Linda obviously cares about her family but she's on the warpath following her actions on Christmas Day/New Year. I think this all started with Ollie's autism diagnosis and/or her having friction with all the other school mums, and then spiraled into something completely unforeseen.

I do feel that she has gone from 0-100 in a short space of time but I also think it's justified considering she has a lot to bury her head in the sand over. She's been embroiled in a lot of drama and has a lot of people on her back. Personally, I didn't think it could get any worse for Linda after she woke up in a puddle of broken glass and blood. I thought she'd get help after that. But what's truly harrowing is that she carries on, seemingly without care, but then at the end of it all she vocalises exactly how much she hates herself and tbh it just breaks my heart.

I also think Mick rationing the alcohol for Linda is a great angle for them to go down. It shows the warped rationale that is involved when you're trying to balance such a tricky tightrope.

Ammi 31-01-2020 04:25 AM

...well that told me...last nights episode was really quite emotional and heart wrenching...

Shaz devouring a pickle and shivering with pleasure needs gifing IMMEDIATELY!

Marsh. 03-02-2020 09:45 PM

I can't really get on board with Shirley's "tough love" when they haven't even tried helping Linda. They've just given her grief and more reasons to drink from the start. They're acting like this is the last straw, the last resort but it isn't. None of them have even tried with her.

Not to mention, throwing her rape and her cancer in her face. :umm2: The torment of which Shirley added to by shaming her for months and even after the truth came out still treating Linda like sh*t.

Not to mention, Shirley herself being a drunken lush who can't survive without consuming alcohol daily and has a habit of attempting to drown family members.

Not to mention, Linda being blamed for Mick kissing Whitney for being selfish enough to have a sick mother and get cancer herself. :umm2:

We're supposed to sympathise with the suffering family, but really, Linda's right. It's always about saint Mick and how put upon he is. I'd drink too if I lived with Mick and had to put up with Shirley mooching off my pub, living in my home and playing mother hen to the baby she abandoned for 40 years.

PHEW!!!!

Just my thoughts. :hehe:

ALTHOUGH, I did howl at poor Chantelle screaming at the cup being thrown at her head. The poor love getting beatings from all sides.
