Yes but according to our restrictions you have to isolate for 7 days and then not be in close contact with people for 3/4 more days after that so the party can't go ahead

Just have the 18th birthday party. You don't have to isolate for any amount of time, nobody can force you, you choose to do it.

Well, it's other people I'm thinking of really, I know a lot of the people who would be invited wouldn't come if they knew we had covid now and I wouldn't not tell them

Just tell them that if they're vaccinated then they'll be safe. That's why they agreed to take the vaccine in the first place. That's the whole function of the vaccine, so you can go about your normal business knowing the vaccine will protect you.

If they stay living in fear after being vaccinated then what was the point in getting vaccinated?

Neem ignore the old guidance and have the party

At this time, it is still growing in the UK.

So best to have a mask on, I say.

There is currently NO evidence that suggests that mask wearing has ANY effect at all on BA2 Omicron

In fact the current case rates would suggest one thing

masks are useless against this virus

No one has religiously worn a mask for a few months now, and that’s why the cases are rising so fast

Hardly ... the NHS says yesterday that many of the hospitalised Covid patients had both Covid and Flu and they were struggling to know which to treat and with what
