Arsenal set to appeal Eduardo's two-match ban by Uefa for dive against Celtic
Arsenal are almost certain to appeal against Eduardo’s two-match Champions League ban after they accused Uefa of following a “perfunctory and apparently arbitrary” process in suspending their player.

Good times this will be good :cat:

Yeah should do...

Just read the whole article its a great read. And have some very valid reasons for it not to be given.

They need to enforace this rule, but they need to come up and say it will be enforced more now, as eduardo being singled out when you could name 50 players + who have dived in the last 6 months.. Makes it a bit unfair on him personally, especially with the hate he has recieved, if the scottish fifa people wern't twats this would be all over by now.

Benitez has been taken up on his comments he made during and after the tottenham game (i think) and it could result in a fine and touchline ban.

Former Portsmouth midfielder Niko Kranjcar admits he chose Tottenham ahead of Everton.

The Croatia midfielder made a transfer deadline day from Portsmouth to team up with Redknapp and ex-Pompey team-mates Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch and compatriots Luka Modric and Vedran Corluka.

Asked whether Everton had bid for him, the 25-year-old reportedly told Jutarnji List: "This is true.

"Everton is also a big club but, in the end, the tradition and greatness of Tottenham made the difference.

"I also knew manager Harry Redknapp, and Luka Modric and Vedran Corluka told me great things about the club."

Kranjcar has signed a four-year deal at White Hart Lane for a fee in the region of £2.5million.

Aston Villa have completed the signing of West Ham United defender James Collins.

Collins, who has penned a four-year contract, said: "I'm delighted to have it all sorted.

"It's a fantastic setting. I just can't wait to get cracking now.

"Aston Villa is a massive club so, after coming here looking around the place and I'm friendly with a few of the boys as well, it didn't take a lot of persuading on my part."

Collins added: "I loved my time at West Ham but I believe I have taken a step forward.

"I have come to Aston Villa to improve as a player and hopefully improve their team. I'll be looking to do that straight away."

LIVERPOOL manager Rafael Benitez could face a touchline ban and a hefty fine after being hauled in line by the Football Association for his outburst following the opening-day setback at Tottenham.

He has been charged with improper conduct for comments about referee Phil Dowd shortly after that 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane.

Benitez was furious at Dowd’s refusal to award a late penalty for what he perceived to be a foul on Andriy Voronin by Benoit Assou-Ekotto, with Liverpool having another spot-kick shout turned down moments later when Fernando Torres struck a shot against Assou-Ekotto’s hand.

Liverpool had already won a penalty, converted by Steven Gerrard.

Benitez claimed it was “impossible” for his side to be given two penalties by Dowd and pulled a pair of spectacles from the inside pocket of his jacket in what is being viewed as a slight against Dowd’s character.

Anfield No2 Sammy Lee was sent off for becoming involved in a row with fourth official Stuart Attwell over the ‘penalty’. He also faces a charge of improper conduct.

The FA asked Benitez to explain his comments, but did not quiz him on claims that Attwell, 26, is too young to officiate at Premier League level.

Problem is it was 100% not a penalty.
Defender was "running his line" as people call it and it was shoulder to shoulder..
And torres kicking a ball against someones hand really hard is hardly a penalty either.

Understandable he was annoyed but he could now get a touchline ban for nothing.
