Really? From what I saw it looked like Josie was gunning for JJ alone, or am I wrong?

I think Josie knows that the more Sunshine goes on trying to make herself into the 'victim' the angier JJ gets. I think she was trying to stop JJ digging a bigger hole for himself.

It is true that JJ is very argumentative, doesn't drop things and is so paranoid. Fair play to Josie for at least trying to play peacemaker.
