That's kinda my point Marc  if Ke$ha's got a song that's popular with more members than any other song then why should anti-voting be a factor? e.g. say 40% of TiBB love We R Who We R while the other 60% dislike it, but there's no other song that more than 40% of TiBB likes, it's entirely feasible that it'll get voted out and something less popular would win, by virtue of not being as hated (but also not being as loved)... if you get my logic. At the end of the day it's not important, it's just a competition.

People voted tactically aswell, some members have said they really like a song in a thread, but vote it off to save a song they prefure in danger

tend to agree, this has been hard to follow as well with all the changing, it's been trial and error, bit confusing but people have stuck with it, and overall it's a really good thread, lots of great songs to choose from and although I'm sad Leona and Olly have gone in particular, they did well to get so far, and there are still some great songs left in :) There will never be a winner that everyone agrees with, so if one or two of my faves are in the top 5 or thereabouts I'll be happy :)

Katy/Kanye for the win :xyxwave:

Z 28-12-2011 01:19 PM

Well it's not so much trial and error, Kate, every time this competition's been run this has been the way - there's a target of getting it down to round numbers at the end of each round (e.g. 100 > 50 > 25 or whatever) but in reality that's difficult to achieve, so it has a rough template but it'll never be what the rules say it will be.

yes, admittedly I would tie myself up in knots with it (or tear my hair out) lol. I can't cope with that plus one minus one round (I would have had to sit that out, so glad it was changed. By trial and error I meant it had to be adapted to work properly and get the round numbers needed, and sometimes was a bit confusing that's all. :)

Maia 28-12-2011 04:05 PM

Goodness what an awful list, looks like all the songs I would've voted for in round 1 are gone :bored: Here are my votes anyway:

Coldplay - "Paradise"
Ke$ha - "We R Who We R"
Lana Del Rey - "Video Games"
M83 - "Midnight City"
The Strokes - "Under Cover of Darkness"

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 28-12-2011 04:06 PM

The bolded songs are through to the final 10 - but the italicised ones are tied for the 9th and 10th spots available. I'll post a tiebreak poll for the four songs, where there'll be (hopefully) two winners.

Adele - "Rolling in the Deep" - 4
Adele - "Someone Like You" - 8
Azealia Banks - "212 (feat. Lazy Jay)" - 3
Coldplay - "Paradise" - 7
Drake - "Take Care (feat. Rihanna)" - 3
Kanye West - "All of the Lights" - 6
Katy Perry - "E.T. (feat. Kanye West)" - 7

Katy Perry - "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" - 1
Katy Perry - "The One That Got Away" - 3
Ke$ha - "We R Who We R" - 4
Lady GaGa - "The Edge of Glory" - 5
Lady GaGa - "Judas" - 4
Lana Del Rey - "Video Games" - 10
M83 - "Midnight City" - 6

Nicki Minaj - "Super Bass" - 3
Rihanna - "We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)" – 5
The Strokes - "Under Cover of Darkness" - 4
The Throne - "Otis" - 2
Tyler, the Creator - "Yonkers" - 2
Will Young - "Jealousy" - 3

R.I.P. The One That Got Away

Shaun 29-12-2011 04:58 PM

yes, you'll be remembered....sparcely

Z 29-12-2011 05:06 PM

I'd never even heard of M83 until this thread came into existence. :suspect:

Samuel. 29-12-2011 05:07 PM

Yonkers, Otis and Take Care eliminated :|

Interesting how different the vote leaders are now than what they were earlier on. All of the Lights not getting half as much love as it was.

Shaun 29-12-2011 05:08 PM

indeed, I'm not sure what happened there tbh

I only realised yesterday that the M83 song is the theme tune to Made In Chelsea :( i'll try to love it regardless of this flaw

Z 29-12-2011 05:11 PM

I guess people will vote for different things when you have less votes to spare... you might have voted for a song you think's pretty good when you had 10 votes but now that it's down to 5, you're only gonna vote for ones you love and/or think are in danger of being voted out?

Possibly but tbh you shouldnt vote like that else it gives inaccurate results.

Doogle 29-12-2011 05:26 PM

I changed my votes a tad in the rounds when I noticed songs I didn't notice before, Because most of mine stayed in for quite a few rounds.

The whole concept of this competition is designed to give inaccurate results. What we get isn't TiBB's Top Song of 2011, it's TiBB's song that nobody hates enough to anti-vote but likes enough to win. There's a difference. I also want to stress that I enjoy this competition

Jords 29-12-2011 06:06 PM

There will be many songs that fall under than category but ultimately there will be songs that people love and do not hate that get through and 1 of them will win.

Jords 29-12-2011 06:10 PM

Actually I dont think what you saying is that true, the 'Love' round gets rid of songs people arnt interested by, the 'Hate' round gets rid of songs people dont like. :conf:

Z 29-12-2011 06:11 PM

Not that I'm any expert on music or a yardstick of what's good/bad by any means; but I find it bizarre that a song by a band I've literally never heard of or heard until this thread is in the top 10.

Yeah, but generally speaking the more people love something (Pixie Lott, Leona Lewis, Lady GaGa, the list goes on..) on here, the greater the anti vote will be.

Jords 29-12-2011 06:13 PM

If youre on about M83 there was a thread made in music and Midnight City got a lot of hype, same goes with Lana Del Rey. If them threads wernt made perhaps less people would have know about them... -didnt know about M83 beforehand-

Gaga might have 2 songs in Top 10 so  And Leona isnt that loved on here and Pixie more for her looks.

Adele and Perry still both had 3 songs each up until this round... big songs go because there not always that great, just very hyped about in the media.
