Yes, a lot of households would have watched the footy rather than BB because of the fans in the house. If you have a husband and wife and the husband always lets the wife watch BB but one night the football is on, generally the husband gets to watch the football because the wife always watches BB. Just an example.

I get that but to make excuses for BB because something else is on tv isnt on. Its hardly as if it had a drop off of 3-4 million....its a shame too hough because his year has potential.

Saying it never will and it just has = logic

Apparently civilian BB needs to be part of the deal because they won't re-build a house that's only going to be on-screen 18 days at a time.

I know but it will never go under a Million without the football, C5 have made different time slots for Big brother to save it from a clash

Iceman 08-06-2014 11:02 AM

No, C5 have changed the time slots for Big brother so it won't clash on most days

A currently it is **** now

They need some drama or fight to happen to get viewers tuning in, instead of watching Football.

It's got great housemates now. The drama is coming naturally instead of being manufactured by producers this series.

Surely in 2014 theres more than 1 tv in a house so everyone should be able to watch anything they want?

Terrible rating especially when its so early on but I have a feeling it will pick up again tonight and settle around 1.3/4 nightly.

JohnnyBB 08-06-2014 11:07 AM

Big brother shouldnt have went under a million last night this is all im saying.

@TVRatingsUK: #EngvHon peaked at 10 with 7.42m, then dropped to 5.2m during the delay. Figures then rose to 7.4m again, before settling between 5 and 6m.
Make of that what you want but i dont think it should of went below a million there was plenty of veiwers around watching last night.

mrmattybeck1 08-06-2014 11:12 AM

Lots of excuses but thats a terrible rating

It is, because it clashed with football, it will rise over the week

don't know about it going up tonight what does soccer aid usually get

ruiphillips 08-06-2014 11:22 AM

Soccer Aid got 4.5 million last year

Headie 08-06-2014 11:22 AM

Wait what's the rating for last night then or are we just basing it off a rumour on DS?

Luke Patton* 08-06-2014 11:24 AM

Wasn't it like 950,000 INC +1???

952k incl +1

Raph 08-06-2014 11:25 AM

I was predicting this when talking to my dad. Doesn't surprise me for two reasons - it's a Saturday and I think a lot of people were turned off by the amount of models and semi-celebrities who went into the house.

I'm sure it'll pick up, other C5 shows usually only get that on a regular basis so there's still hope for BB to get renewed

Luke Patton* 08-06-2014 11:32 AM

Peoples viewing habits are changing ALOT, I'd expect a big increase with the officials. The rating isn't great for a 3rd show in, but I'm probably going to predict a BB10 scenario where it grew throughout the series.
