Love your rankings LJ (Clay too high up for my liking however)
#BasicBecky, didn't like Shelli at the time but I now consider her queen of the jury. Will check out the Da'Vonne YT clip soon. One of my favourite moments in jury.. Shelli: We all knew what she was doing and none of us when after her Becky: I did Jury: And I've just found out Shelli's dog has a twitter account. |
#BasicBecky
amazing write-ups, LJ. You actually made me reconsider how great of a houseguest Shelli was. |
Thanks guys  I totally get why people don't like Clay but he was never really that offensive to me and provided much of the drama in the early season without being a total dick so I'm a fan. Shelli just has so many elements to her and I'm glad I'm converting y'all one by one.

Jason: Jason reaaaaaaaaalllly doesn't age well for me, as I've said numerous times before, and you do a pretty good job explaining why! He spent his whole summer saying kinda gross to really gross ****, like dubbing Liz FAT BETH and talking about how Audrey might be lying and other stuff. Also, for a superfan who is supposed to have INTRICATE GAMEPLAY according to some people... he spent his entire summer sitting on the couch in the backyard smoking cigs and talking ****. I don't think he ever entered the HoH Room when he wasn't HoH. I really don't get how HE is the one who casuals mourned over and how on earth he got top three for AFP, but w/e. It pisses me off that people think Liz's goodbye message was harsh after all the **** he said about her, but this is America and they always have **** taste. He IS kind of a phony like you mentioned, the only time he snathced a wig was after Da'Vonne ****ing destroyed Audrey and he merely sang backup because he had his whole alliance supporting him. He's a total flop and it goes to show that even when gays aren't terrible on BBUS, they're still not very good at all.
Meg: Meg is love <3 remember when people thought she was going to be what Vanessa was in terms of The Female Strategist? :joker: She actually had a good read on house dynamics though, I must say. The one thing I hate about Meg (which I don't hold against her at all) is how the show kept trying to paint her as the next Victoria who is useless and sucks at comps  she wasn't even THAT bad. She was only disastrous at the two running comps, and understandably so due to all her knee surgeries. She came in second in the comic book comp, third in OTEV. I really hope that production doesn't keep trying to find The Next Victoria each season because that's gonna be soooooo ****ing annoying. Jackie: Jackie really got the shaft in the edited show and what a shame that is. First of all, **** Julie Chen for being all "lol Jackie who? Does she think this is a Pit Stop on TAR? :)" and thank god Jeff was just like "uhhh well she's still in the house and I'm not so she's doing something right  Jackie's involvement in ADC was weird because she was never really part of that group. It was James/Meg/Jeff/Jason at its core, and then Jackie kinda got lumped in there by default after Jason was nominated. But even though Jackie really wasn't part of ADC, she was the one keeping their sorry asses float. Oh my god I kept flashing back to when she put Shelli on the spot in the HoH Room after Jason was nominated and Shelli panicked and was seething silently for days after the fact :joker: Jackie had Shelli and Vanessa CLOCKED and one thing this season really lacked was a Jackie HoH because omg she wouldn't have held back at all. I think her TAR experience helped her because she was able to compartmentalize personal and game stuff really well, and if she had an HoH week she would not have wasted it one bit. She was a ticking time bomb that got taken out too soon THANKS STEVE :\ I really think that if Jackie was given a better edit she would've taken Jason's spot for top three in AFP because on the feeds she was everything America wanted at the time (an anti-Sixth Sense person who does not give a **** <3) Clay: I don't really care for Clay that much but I don't hate him like some people do just bc he's a str8 white male or a Dumb Recruit or w/e. He's kind of annoying and kind of entitled and his Texas definitely showed with some racial ****, but Clay's just so bland that I don't see the point in getting worked up about him. He DOES gain a lot of points with me though for #Claudrey because I think that friendship is ****ing adorable. Like, people keep singing praise to **** like Zankie and James/Austin as if gays and str8s have never been friends before, but I do think there's something legitimately endearing about a str8 white attractive D1 football player befriending a psychotic transgender woman who plays ORGs and ****. I love following the Claudrey shenanigans post-show --- they started a gofundme to host some crazy reality game or something :joker: I also think it's kind of an attractive quality of Clay's that it seems like he's letting the reality TV experience fully consume him. It kinda reminds me of Brendon Villegas, how someone like Clay should by all means not give a **** about corny ass shows like this, but Clay seems like he's oddly down with it all? It's one of the reasons why I find Brendon pretty attractive. Like, he's a fully willing participant on this **** and actively endorses Rachel doing absurd **** like yelling at Kristen inside a boxing ring and crying in a bush. It's just so refreshing to see str8 guys put up with the craziness that is Big Brother iykwim. I'll talk about the top six later! |
Okay I'll do two more
Da'Vonne: Before I forget, you write up reminded me that Da'Vonne's DRs were great. It was SO refreshing to see some natural DRs instead of the generic scripted ****, so she definitely delivered in that department. Everyone here loves Da'Vonne so I don't feel like I need to get into it that much, but I just need to throw it out there that she's SUCH a ****ing stereotype. I enjoyed her, but she's pretty much what people think of when they're like "lol ghetto diva hoodrat xx" or whatever, and for that reason I don't think that America would have ever truly liked her even though Grodner did for whatever reason??? Da'Vonne receiving the Last Laugh is still so weird to me, but good lord was her campaigning terrible. She was able to read people well like you said, but she couldn't do anything herself. Like, she tipped off Julia that people were suspicious of her but then just helped people out her when she could've formed an alliance to protect the twins and save her own ass JUST LIKE VANESSA DID. And then when Da'Vonne was campaigning for votes it was just like "I can't tell you who I have, but I need one more vote. Wanna be it? :3" and "can you just throw me a sympathy vote pls" x100. It was painful and I was kinda glad she was evicted just so I didn't have to put up with that any longer. I don't care about gameplay, but it would've been so frustrating to root for Da'Vonne if she played like that all summer long ya know? James: James was the biggest morph for me because he was my least favorite at one point? He was kind of a gross sexist early on with random talk about going hogging (aka having sex with a fat girl) during one of the podcasts to the point where Meg apparently went off on him while the feeds were down? It turns out that James is actually really lovable though so I'm just gonna blame his sexism on being around Jeff :joker: Like Da'Vonne, the appeal to James is pretty self-evident so I won't get into it too much. He led a lovable alliance of misfits that were a lot of fun even if they sucked at the game. His HoH week was sooooooooo refreshing too btw. James and Becky get a lot of credit with me because their HoH reigns were so refreshingly straightforward and simple. They declared their target and were firm about it, and that's so rare in BBUS? I really think part of the reason why BBUS suffers is because the PoV and all this metagame has created a mindset where the HoHs constantly enact these absurd, overwrought, convoluted, theatrical plans that always end in a backdoor. Like, backdooring was a novel idea in BB5 and BB6 but now backdoor culture is just way too much for me to handle (Battle of the Block didn't help at all.) James's HoH week is my fave of the season because it was just so simple and straightforward and to the point: a showmance was nominated and they couldn't save each other; one of them was for sure going home that week. It did get kinda obnoxious at the end when we got all these random segments pushing James as AFP (the one exploiting his daughter as an accident didn't really sit well with me, but strangely it was used to boost James's good qualities?!?!) but good lord was he a better alternative to J**** or what? |
I'm conflicted on a Jackie HoH because as brilliant as it would've been it'd probably result in a Vanessa boot and I'm just wouldn't be ready for that. :worry:
I'm so glad somebody else enjoys Claudrey and someone made this video which demonstrates their sibling-esque dynamic beautifully: I wish we saw Meg going off on James! You could tell at the beginning she was getting sick of Jeff and James's comments and it'd be cool to see another side to her that's not just ^_^ |
