Forgot to mention the percentages are based on the number of votes each finalist received once the voting froze over the total amount of votes cast overall in the BB15 final, which was 385,917.

So Pav had 4,000 votes cast when the lines froze, in a six way vote. But there was less votes cast. So his actual %age would be higher. If that makes sense.

In the Final 2, the percentages were:

Helen - 50.6%
Ashleigh - 49.4%

I need to rewatch the BB15 final and see why Helen randomly got a huge boost in votes half way through.

It feels so odd that someone can win a show with not even 1/10th of the viewers' votes

A heavily concentrated push from Helen's small group of fans.

Which is sadly enough to sway it in this day and age.

Oooh, great idea for a thread.

What if Channel 5 hadn't renewed the contract and the show went to ITV?

It would be awful and like BB12 all over again.

I know. 385,000 votes cast in a BB final is awful. No wonder why they can't afford live feed.

It's sad knowing back in the golden days, a final would get like 5m votes cast. Even more in BB1-BB5 days. That's more than 10x more votes cast than C5, and the ratings for those series were not 10x more than that of BB15.

I wonder how much CBB gets.

I think BB13 had the lowest votes cast in the final. Apparently it was below 100k. :umm2:

I mean Sara/Luke S were never gonna win and it didn't really matter who won out of Luke A/Adam/Deana so I assume thats why some people didn't vote.

No, apparently BB13 as a whole received little votes throughout the entire series, even during evictions. I think each eviction in BB13 had about 40k votes cast.

BB12 and CBB9 had about 700k votes cast, due to Facebook voting.

What if Jayne hadn't blabbed about noms and got everyone up resultinging in Nikki getting evicted, would she have won over Pete and would the hnd ex housemates twist have even happend (because we all know that was just to get Nikki bk in) xx

She was evicted with over 37% of the vote, against ten other housemates. Of course she wouldn't have won.

That's a massive percentage in an eleven-way vote, so I doubt she would've been able to muster up enough votes to win, as the anti-Nikki votes would've diminished any chance she had of winning.

JessicaJaine 05-07-2015 12:36 AM

What if they didn't do the quadruple eviction in BB11?

Would Josie still have won?

I like to cling onto hope and think that John James and Josie would have split the votes and Corin would have passed them as a third party but I think Josie was always going to win, she had so many fans.

Fumes at scrapping the FB voting?

True , though I think that they'd have at least bumped CBB up to ITV rather than airing it on ITV2.

BB8 wasn't bad because of CBB5. I mean yes, CBB5 did tarnish the brand. But, there was a lot of hype for BB8, when it started. Especially due to the success of BB7, the summer before.

It's the awful production that ruined BB8. I like BB8 as a series, but it's awful in the last few weeks, particularly when Charley is evicted. BB8 had so many pointless twists to try to replicate the success of BB7, that it just killed any potential the series had, which was high to begin with. The all-female launch and dropping men in one by one was a massive no-no.

I did think the BB8 ratings were affected by CBB5. But I think also the quality of the series in comparison to the other 3 series before also had something to do with the decline in ratings.

Had BB8 been a better series I don't see why it couldn't have averaged around 4.2m, instead of 3.8m.

Frankly it was never going to get over 4.6m or the same ratings as the golden era series, because like I said CBB5 did put a lot of people from watching. But this series still had the hype that BB5-BB7 all had. It was just a disappointment the way things were executed that it lowered the ratings even further, when it could've averaged over 4m.
