So I think that Trump saying the message was aimed at the media sounds plausible. But if you know that they're fairy tales, then that's ok with me.

That's a reach and half though. She's not gonna make such a vague statement with her clothes that could be misconstrued so easily. Peter Fonda's a twat but I don't like that people are zeroing in on one wankstain's stupid tweet as a diversionary tactic.
Roseanne Barr made an overtly racist comment out of nowhere. People aren't focusing on that Fonda twat because he isn't the story, the child abuse is and his views are as important to the subject at hand as any one Twitter troll's is which is to say, not at all. Roseanne's racism WAS the story, you can't compare the two. They are completely different and the comparison only works if you not only ignore the context but butcher it completely to fit the narrative you want to push.
