Show Incoming!

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:18 PM

We have our first perfect score of the series tonight!

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:28 PM

So you've heard of around the world in 80 days. Well prepare for a tour around the world even faster as our contestants take on dances from different countries this week. It's time to grab your passports!

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:29 PM

1. Jake and Katya with a Cossack dance from Ukraine to Bad Romance

Toy Soldier: I can see what this act was going for by sticking to the traditional instrumental style of the dance, and some imagination has gone into this, but given that they've gone for the traditional musical style I would have preferred something closer in authentic origin. This sits too in-the-middle for me, I'd have liked to see this either lean more heavily towards something traditional, or throw caution to the wind and give us a traditional dance to an unconventional musical style choice. I can see the thought process but the results didn't get me out of my seat

Parmnion: Was that the duchess of sussex i saw squating up and down gracefully!!...No it wasnt, it was you.

Barry: I liked how it was just the tune and no singing, I watched a video of the dance too and it did seem to go together so great job

Toy Soldier:7
Parmnion:10!
Barry:9

Score:26

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:30 PM

2. Lewis and Dianne with a Bollywood Dance from India to Jai Ho

Toy Soldier: I can't argue that it fits the theme and that the dance was great! But it was exactly the song I expected so I'm afraid I can't help but feel that this was very "safe"

Parmnion: Exuberant, giving absolutely adorable

Barry: I’d prefer the original ja ho without the dolls but it was still a great effort

Toy Soldier:8
Parmnion:10!
Barry:9

Score:27

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:30 PM

3. Liam and Dianne with a Ballet Dance from Italy to Torna a casa

Toy Soldier: A beautiful modern ballet, full of drama and Italian passion. And bonus points for such authenticity on the theme

Parmnion: A song of such grace and beauty, the dance heightened to the next level by the sight of your budgie smugglers

Barry: Might just be me but this was a risk to play, you kind of got me with it but I don’t know if it was the weakest so far

Toy Soldier:10!
Parmnion:10!
Barry:8

Score:28

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:30 PM

4. Kazanne and Johannes with a Northern Soul Dance from UK to Be Young Be Foolish Be Happy

Toy Soldier: Obviously perfect for the dance, not my favourite style but I can't deduct points for something so subjective. However - I would have preferred a UK song for the UK entry on this.

Parmnion: A little underwhelming, but there is thay extra point

Barry: Again seemed to go with the dance and I loved it.

Toy Soldier:8
Parmnion:8
Barry:10!

Score:26

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:32 PM

5. Alf and Karen with a Highland Dance from Scotland to Donald where's your troosers

Toy Soldier: Another obvious choice but I would have preferred something more dramatic to pull at the patriotic heartstrings, this felt a little downbeat... ended up a bit bored

Parmnion: Fun fun fun, contestant, where's your troosers?

Barry: Being from Scotland you’d think I’d know about the highland dance but I don’t know much about it other than we had to do it in school for a dance. But I think you did well with this song.

Toy Soldier:7
Parmnion:8
Barry:9

Score:24

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:33 PM

6. Vanessa and Giovanni with a Belly Dancing from Egypt to Ghamazt

Toy Soldier: This was a lot of fun, and again a bit of work has gone into finding the right song. I can't say that my socks were blown off but it was very enjoyable nonetheless

Parmnion: Jimmy five bellies

Barry: Lol the title amuses me. Did you type in best belly dancing song in YouTube? Anyway it was good

Toy Soldier:8
Parmnion:7
Barry:9

Score:24

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:33 PM

7. Niamh and Graziano with an Irish Dance from Ireland to I'm shipping up to Boston

Toy Soldier: Loved it - this is the sort of twist and innovation that was missing on our Scottish entry. An excellent close to the show, thoroughly entertained throughout

Parmnion: Yes, best of the evening....by far

Barry: I loved this, the angryish I’d say of the song was great and the tune was spot on

Toy Soldier:10!
Parmnion:10!
Barry:10!

Score: THE FIRST PERFECT 30 OF THE SERIES!! 30!!!

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:35 PM

Leaderboard week 4

1. Niamh and Graziano 30
2. Liam and Dianne 28
3. Lewis and Dianne 27
4. Kazanne and Johannes 26
4. Jake and Katya 26

5. Alf and Karen 24
5. Vanessa and Giovanni 24

Which means Alf Vs Vanessa in the dance off!

Strictly Jake 24-11-2021 05:36 PM

Congrats Niamh!!!

You get to choose the next theme. Whoever gets eliminated out of Alf and Vanessa can pick the other theme. As it's two dances each next time!

Vanessa 24-11-2021 05:45 PM

Good luck Alf

user104658 24-11-2021 06:31 PM

Niamh getting a perfect score for an Irish Dance in a pretend dance competition is peak TiBB through and through isn't it.

Liam- 24-11-2021 06:32 PM

Aye, I’ll take second, didn’t think I’d be that high up at all

The biggest shock of the night was your entry not being Vanessa

3 Scottish judges and I finish in the bottom 2.

Is there a dramatic song to do a Highland dance too that pulls at the patriotic heart strings?

I looked at Rod Stewart songs but nothing fitted a Highland dance.

The first line of this song is "I've just come down from the Isle of Skye"
