THE three girls who were killed in a stabbing in Southport have been named.

Merseyside Police confirmed the names of the three girls who were tragically killed as six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar.

Their families, who are being supported by specialist officers, have issued photographs and have asked that their privacy is respected at this time.

Bebe King’s family have shared the following tribute: "No words can describe the devastation that has hit our family as try to deal with the loss of our little girl Bebe."

The family of Alice Dasilva Aguiar paid this tribute: "Keep smiling and dancing like you love to do our Princess, like we said before to you, you're always our princess and no one would change that. Love from Your Hero Daddy and Mummy."

Quick-thinking teacher locked kids in toilet as knifeman attacked Taylor Swift dance class…

One of the teachers leading a Taylor Swift dance class targeted by a knifeman who killed three young girls in a stabbing rampage kept other children there safe by locking them in a toilet, it's been revealed. It came as police sadly confirmed a nine year-old girl died in hospital in the early hours of Tuesday.

Two other girls, aged six and seven, died from their injuries on Monday, with police confirming eight other children also suffered stab wounds during the attack. Five are said to be in critical condition.

Two other adults are also said to be fighting for their lives after the horror attack in Southport. One is believed to be Leanne Lucas, 36. Her co-teacher, Heidi Barlow, is thought to have received minor injuries. Ms Barlow is said to have successfully protected children attending the dance, yoga and games class by locking them in a toilet when the attack took place.

One resident of Hart Street said the two women had tried desperately to save the children. They told The Sun: "She was in the toilet, shut the door and locked it with one of the kids. The other got some kids to the fire exit." A source at the scene told the Mirror Ms Barlow was the one who hid the children in the toilet.

Together, the women are believed to have saved 16 people aged between six and 11. The resident added that, following the lead of two teachers, others later joined and tried to help get the children - around 25 of whom are thought to have attended the class - to safety.

They added: "I heard some lads from the builders yard and a window cleaner came out and tried to help. They heard shouting, 'get the kids, get the kids'.

"I don't know if they’ve tackled him. I heard someone sat on him. A friend of mine, his two little daughters have been stabbed. Little girls were getting worked on in gardens and mums were crying their eyes out."

Tributes to the women have since been posted on social media, with one person on Facebook claiming to have trained with Ms Lucas saying she was a "beautiful young creative girl".

The tribute read: "I’m absolutely devastated. Please please pray for Leanne. Leanne came on my training course in December. A beautiful young creative girl who was so passionate about helping children. I just can’t believe it. Please pray."
