Truly horrific.

Tbf, the Democrats are to blame for not appealing to straight white men.

They're half of the country's population, and the Democrats didn't come up with one policy to pull any of them over to their side.

Yes before he got to the total.

Harris will not speak to the press?

I hate identity politics and even I think that's what it was :joker:

The former definitely played it's part, Americans just aren't ready to accept a female President.

It's not just white male voters either. Trumps support surged massively amongst black and hispanic voters too. There was a 33 point swing towards Trump amongst hispanic males

You're right tbf.

Democrats and their vote base need to get men on their side again, not insulting them or belittling them, as that's the kind of behaviour that will keep seeing the Democrats struggling to win elections for the foreseeable future.

And I am someone that is not a Republican supporter at all.

Crimson Dynamo 06-11-2024 07:36 AM

The markets are loving this news

joeysteele 06-11-2024 07:37 AM

Ugh.
What a depressing start to the day.

The only good thing is that in three and a half years the next presidential election process will be in full swing and thankfully this man cannot be a candidate ever again for the Presidency.

I do have to concede that he is an individual who it's hard to work out what he may do.
Which he can be positive or negative on, so a slim hope may be that he seeks to be far better this time

Instead she tried to hide from the spotlight as much as possible and rely on celebrity endorsements to win the race for her.

And the biggest problem is that no one voted for her as their candidate. Even a lot of Democrats would think it a bit distasteful the way it was handled, first with everyone insisting Biden was fine to stand and then forcing him out at the last minute by which time it was too late to have a proper primary

I know she was picked as VP, but honestly the dems should have been able to vote who they wanted to take over as president

They let Biden get too fragile and I think that’s where they ended up shooting themselves in the foot

Genuinely did not think this would happen. Hopefully no more world wars come of this result. It’s scary times for sure

pretty 100% sure Trump will do a Putin and make sure there won't be anymore elections to stay in power

Sooo many people are going to be disappointed when basically nothing changes and the world ticks on as usual.

@DavidLammy

Congratulations to @RealDonaldTrump on your victory.

The UK has no greater friend than the US, with the special relationship being cherished on both sides of the Atlantic for more than 80 years.

:joker:

We look forward to working with you and
@JDVance
in the years ahead.

joeysteele 06-11-2024 08:09 AM

I think I actually dislike his running mate Vance as much as I do Trump.
He comes across really slimey.

Vanessa 06-11-2024 08:11 AM

Im so happy. Great result. I'm sure the time will come for a female president. But not yet.

i hope there will be a couple of changes though

a more stable middle east (for that to happen 1) Israel also needs sanctions for unnecessary bloodshed 2) Palestine need to get rid of Hamas and need to trust USA that they will prevent Israel from continuing with the massacres)

Putin's Russia withdrawing out of Ukraine (a special trade deal between USA and Russia might help talk sanity in Putin, with some rules here and there)

stable relations between the two Korea's (The Donald was very close in his 1st term so who knows if he might be fully successful this time around)

that isn't true this time round. Trump has been very clear on what he intends to do and it certainly isn't business as usual

joeysteele 06-11-2024 08:38 AM

I hope he's MADE to act with more responsibility and decency.
However I won't hold my breath.

I guess one claim to fame he has, is he can beat women but not men.

Crimson Dynamo 06-11-2024 08:40 AM

They tried to jail him

They tried to kill him

The whole of the MSM were against him

But with God on his side and the great American people he won

He is Deal Maker,
a Businessman

That's why America Voted him back in

James 06-11-2024 10:36 AM

The result is part of the same pattern seen across the world: governments being voted out as countries deal with the after effects of the pandemic... inflation etc.

Yeah essentially incumbent governments are being voted out everywhere. The US isn't as unique as either it thinks or the rest of the world seems to think. Seeing everyone in the UK and Europe raging about how Americans voted is mental imo, they're just normal people facing and responding to very similar challenges as everywhere else in the West
