It was a plot device and totally unbelievable that Mercy would go for an 18/19 year old as she usually likes them older and he's a wet drip.

We will definetly see a conclusion to the Gilly/Jacqui storyline towards the end of the year according to Claire Cooper, seems more interesting than some of the rubbish we're seeing now. I can't wait to see who is telling the truth!

Pretty much, a 9 year age gap and that. It seems that Hollyoaks start plots, and then realise they're gonna fail but are already in too deep, so they either make a really crappy end for it or drag it on until it becomes far too unrealistic.

And as if Theresa would be head over heels for Ethan in real life :joker:

Exactly or Ethan falling in love with schoolgirls and risking his job but it happens in some cases:joker:. They've had an overhaul of the writing team and the way they plan storylines so I hope it has the positive effect that is needed:).

So is it true Mercedes finds out she's actually pregnant for real after faking a miscarriage. Silly cow, I'm sure she's had that story before.

But, anyway, I think I'm gonna have to give up on Hollyoaks. I've given it a big chance and benefit of the doubt but I'm afraid it's never gonna get good again. I haven't enjoyed it for over 12 months.

I tuned back in after a missing a few episodes and found the Ruby/Amy stuff so unrealistic and forced. Amy breaks down in tears (bad actress) and overreacts. There's too many stories in the show now where you have to rely on the story being stupidly dumbed down and spoonfed to the audience to make sure they get every tiny little plot development. It's just all too unconvincing.

And I really don't get the love for Brendan and Ste. Ste can't act, Brendan's very pantomime, there's not a flicker of chemistry between them sexually, romantically, dramatically, they just look silly and Noah is just awful in every sense.

Can't believe we've gone from Steph, Max, OB, Clare, Warren, Louise, Justin etc to this bunch of caricatures. I wish there was a way of watching 2006-2008 episodes. I miss them.

There is some good core characters there but they are being let down by silly storylines and the likes of people who can't such as Noah, Liberty and Ruby hogging the screen:bored:.

Spot on man. Just nothing flows as well as it used to. They don't have the right people, concentrate on the idiots. It going through a very very dire patch again, I never used to cringe at HO, but recently it's just hard not to. I feel sorry for the younger ones that missed out on the great days. 2004-2008 was it at it's best. But all the changing producers and writers seemed to mess it up. They used to have the good strong families going as well. But now they have one family (McQueens) that they have to keep bringing random cousins in for. Nobody interacts, plots don't make sense, people vanish for weeks on end. As to why they need that stupid previous bits which makes it look even more corny. It's like they want HO to look stupid

Hopefully Hollyoaks will have addressed the writing situation and the characterisation of characters because it's inconsistent:(.

Mercedes was really good from the small bit I seen in the E4 episode, liked her scenes with Myra.

Jennifer Metcalfe has already proved that she's a good actress when they give her the right material which isn't anything affair related.

Hope they start making changes for the good of her character in future:).

Don't know but I hope they do some stuff away from the village and have some stuff with characters e.g. Silas in the village. I want to see another death for some cruel reason:devil:.

Oh just remembered some McQueen stuff in Ibiza involving Mercedes and Michaela so far.

I think Nancy will suss him, he dropped a hint his wife was called Nancy so I think he'll try to kill her next and I suspect he killed his wife anyway.

Silas hasn't been in the spoilers for ages D: He just pops up pointlessly now lol I bet a few have forgotten about the storyline altogether

They've messed it up but I reckon he'll be found out before the end of the year. I can't see Jeff Rawle sticking around longer unless they extend the storyline.
