Oh God. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse...

i think it was a limited strike on a drone factory

Yes attacking Isfahan

Using Bomber drones

i think this was quite clever by Israel. It's a very limited attack, and if Iran now escalate, they will be seen in the wrong

BBC

[5:03AM
What we know so far

It's nearly two hours since we first heard reports
of explosions in Iran. Here's what we know so far:

Two US officials have confirmed to the
BBC's US partner CBS News that an Israeli
missile has struck Iran

Early Friday morning, explosions
were heard around the central city of Isfahan, Iranian
media reported, saying three drones were
destroyed after the country's air defence systems
were activated

Isfahan is home to an Iranian air base
and the province has several military sites.
There are no reports so far that anything
was hit and Iranian media says all nuclear
facilities are safe

Meanwhile, several flights have been
diverted around Iran's airspace,
tracking sites show
Israel's military and the Pentagon
have both declined to comment so far]

Early Daylight now there

[Iran's state broadcaster IRIB
is downplaying the reports of an attack.

It has posted a video on
Telegram showing one of its reporters standing
on the top of a building
in the centre of the city of Isfahan.

"The city is safe and sound, people are
living their normal lives," he says.

"A couple of hours ago sounds were
heard in the skies. From what we know,
multiple mini drones were flying
in the skies of Isfahan when they were
targeted.]

That's fair.

Nicky91 19-04-2024 08:39 AM

so Israel are capable of handing out precision attacks after all then, good work at that drone factory (which in turn is also bad news for Putin and his Evil Russia since they also rely on iranian made drones in their war against Ukraine)

Iran in general, well not everyone are bad people there, just that deluded regime of theirs whom are the biggest danger for the entire middle east basically (same how Netanyahu needs to be going soon either, Benny Gantz would be a good replacement prime minister i think, also one who can potentially have better relations with president Herzog)

stay safe Ali Daei amid this conflict chaos wherever you are, Daei whom was assaulted too few years ago for allegedly voting for the current government which he denies but in fact that he voted for the opposition party, he got beaten up quite badly too, so yeah that iranian regime has to go, causes way too much unrest in the whole country

There's something so bleak yet utterly banal about Israel "cleverly" choosing strategic surgical strike against a country that has a fairly large military after 6 months of insisting that they had no choice but to, against a country with essentially no real military defenses whatsoever, reduce their schools and hospitals to dust and rubble.

Yeah one might think human shields were being used or something.

Yes but again if we're using the human shield analogy, we have to point out that police don't shoot kids through the chest to hit the kidnapper hiding behind them. It's not a good justification for taking the action, either in actual practice or in allegory.

The reaction to knowing there are terrorists in a hospital or school full of innocent people should be "Damn it, we bloody know they're in there but we'll have to find another way to get at them..." ... not "Oh well, bombs away!". :umm2:.

bots 19-04-2024 10:17 AM

this is just a small break, there will be escalation in the coming days and weeks. There is no coming back from what happened last October. While all the sympathy is directed toward the palestinian people, lets not forget that hamas are continuing to refuse to let any of the hostages go which would be the obvious route to de-escalation

As unbelievable as a Met officer telling a Jewish woman that she she needs to understand the context of a swastika.

bots 19-04-2024 11:16 AM

From BBC:

But the question is, was this really Israel’s expected retaliation? Western officials I talked to believe it was not. They tell me it is only a “trap” to “test the waters.”

Depends if they were functional schools or hospitals, or if Hamas occupied the whole building.

(That would be pushing the definition of "human shield", but still)

The Jewish man who was stopped for being "openly Jewish" in London wasn't filming himself until he was stopped. The statement from the assistant commissioner only serves to empower the protesters and blame Jews for being Jewish on the street of their home city.

they have had to issue a further apology after messing up their first one. People keep saying there are no "no go zones" for jewish people, but this all proves the exact opposite

next Saturday he will walk with a lot of friends
at the same time of the march.

He says they will be walking
not marching.
