But yeah I was hoping for a touch of the fame monster, but ah well if it's not to be, it's not to be.

Hopefully there will be, RedOne always delivers with GaGa anyway, so you can guarantee at least one song that's reminiscent of TF/M

I've always loved Speechless after watching her do it live at the royal variety or wherever it was

Smithy 04-02-2013 08:05 PM

Yeah, I hope there's at least one ballad on the album, I was praying for princess die but looks like it won't make the cut

I think this is my favourite Speechless performance

You can hear the emotion in her voice

Oh I hope so too, and why isn't it going on the album?

And that gave me goosebumps, 2:20 onwards>>>>>

Smithy 04-02-2013 08:19 PM

She said it wasn't as good as the other songs she'd written and that she felt the others were better (so im sat here now thinking bitch this album better be good because Princess Die is flawless)

She said she'd rewritten it as an upbeat song though and that might make the album so who knows

1) "she's not an artist like Rihanna who needs to drop a new album every year to stay relevant"

Loud was her first commercial album since GGGB and even with the likes of Gaga, Adele, Bieber, Katy Perry etc emerging in that period it turned out the 3rd highest selling album [in the UK] this decade.

Also you can't prove if she didn't release an album every year that she'd go irrelevant.

2) "not talented'"

3) "there's a dozen other pop bimbos out there who could easily replace her."

Stay and Diamonds are very different to everything else in the charts and even still, Diamonds went to #1 and Stay has been in the top 5 for ages now. Music buyers in the UK seem to have a unique affection towards to her.

4) Gaga is generic electropop with added gimmicks. A lot of critics and musicians have called labelled her pretentious. Nothing special.

At least you know what is written by GaGa has a purpose. I like Rihanna, but many of her songs are lyrics which have no meaning. GaGa actually sits there with a piano and a pencil/paper, and writes what comes to her.

What purpose do her lyrics serve apart from encourage people (badly) to feel empowered and 'express themselves', which has been done a million times already.

Not forgetting that she nicks ideas from other artists.

Congratulations Salman you're TiBB's moron of the month

What purpose do Rihanna's lyrics (I say her lyrics, most of them are written by others) than to have rough sex, turn up the music on the dancefloor and to pull out an umbrella when it rains?

Who the hell actually cares what the purpose of her lyrics are. Good lyrics don't always factor good music.

Having said that though, some of her songs do have meaning. An entire album in fact that was universally acclaimed (a lot which she CO-WROTE) as well as a few other songs. Take Question Existing for example, or even more recently, Stay - "funny you're the broken one but I'm the one who needed saving" - which is in reference to the domestic violence case. So that argument is pretty much BS, especially as you're purposely picking out the songs intended to just be normal pop music.

So you've just massively contradicted yourself.... And don't make a mountain out of a molehill, I said I like Rihanna and her work, GaGa just puts far more passion in to hers IMO.... and just like you're purposely picking out songs intended to be about empowerment

Me. I Am Salman 04-02-2013 09:25 PM

How have I contradicted myslelf :conf2: I was making that first point in reference to the songs you pointed out, which imo are good songs

and no Gaga's whole image is about trying to enforce empowerment. The Born this Way bus, ffs

Smithy 04-02-2013 09:26 PM

Salman take a moment to think why a jaw-droppingly long list of illustrious and well-established stars has consistently sung her praises and collaborated with her. it’s because she is an amazing performer, a top-notch artist and a humble human being and you can swerve all the way over the ledge of your window and throw yourself off it.

Me. I Am Salman 04-02-2013 09:29 PM

I'm not saying she's not talented. She's very talented. Just her music and image which is awful.

And no, I wont.
