Real Madrid might finally have a shot at securing Xabi Alonso after reports in England emerged that he has said his goodbyes to several members of the Liverpool staff.

Will Los Blancos now make a proper official move for the midfielder? Will he become the next Galactico?

Alvaro Arbeloa wants to leave Liverpool, according to his agent. The Spain international's future at Anfield is in doubt following the big-money capture of Glen Johnson from Portsmouth and, although the Reds are in contract talks with the full-back, boss Rafa Benitez has refused to rule out a transfer for the former Deportivo La Coruna defender.Real Madrid have confirmed their interest in Arbeloa along with team-mate Xabi Alonso, and Arbeloa's representative Manuel Garcia Quilon believes Liverpool should let him move on.

"Alvaro has a year left on his current deal and Rafa Benitez knows that it's best to let him go now," he explained to a British newspaper.

He continued: "The career of a football player has many stages and he is qualified to play anywhere."

I thought arbeloa is a left back??

I think if 2 -3 liverpool players leave this summer they could struggle.

Chelsea Set To Make €59m Bid For Top Target

Posted on 28. Jun, 2009 by Milox in Premiership
The Blues appear set to tempt Bayern with a mega-bid for their French winger Franck Ribery.

Chelsea are reportedly set to offer Bayern Munich €59 million for French international Franck Ribery, according to a report in the Sunday Express.

The winger is currently one of the continent’s most in-demand players with Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona all believed to be interested in signing him.

Bayern Munich have, however, insisted they have no desire to sell Ribery but Chelsea now appear set to test their resolve with a huge bid.

The Sunday Express insists that the French winger is top of manager Carlo Ancelotti’s summer shopping list and that the Italian will prioritise his signing when he officially starts work at Stamford Bridge next week.

However, the Blues look to have a fight on their hands if they are to secure Ribery, who has already admitted he is not keen on a move to England.

Instead the Munich man has hinted that Spain would be his preferred destination, news that is bound to have interested both Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The report goes on to state that Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the Bayern chairman, has insisted the club will not sell their star asset saying, “Ribery is irreplaceable and is not for sale.”

Looks to out bid Arsenal already. Man Utd look out of the running.

Chelsea and Arsenal in massive £50 million transfer battle
Man Utd and Real Madrid set to lose out on top forward

Daily Star on Sunday reports that Chelsea and Arsenal are favourites to land French top forward Franck Ribery. Ribery (26) has earlier been linked with Real Madrid and Man Utd.

Arsenal are now entering the race for the top names of Europe, and Wenger shows that he is ready to battle for the best names in football.

Wenger is by many regarded as the best manager in the World. He has shown his loyality to Arsenal and refused to listen to offers from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Arsenal could be the surprise winner of some massive transfer battles this summer. If they manage to sign Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema, both with a French connection, they will be a major contender for the Champions League and Premier Leagu title.

Nicklas Bendtner could be offered as part of the deal to Bayern Munich. Emmanuel Adebayor could join Chelsea if Ribery and Benzema moves to North London.

Arsenal big spenders.

Barcelona and BBC saying it is huge! He will be the most highly paid footballer in the world! It has to be bigger than Ronaldo's wage for them to say that.

Eto has 1 year left on his contract, they should cash in now as Man City want to spend big and throw silly big money at players to wear the sky blue shirt on the wrong side of Manchester.
