You're looking at things the wrong way. The tories have basically abandoned public sector workers during their governance, apart from themselves of course. Now they want you to believe they're interested in investing in the public sector again.

Nicky91 07-10-2019 01:38 PM

britain needs a new PM and preferably one NOT to come from brexit party, labour or tories

maybe Lib Dems

and then operation clean sweep through parliament, getting rid of the old weeds in there, and making a whole new parliament

maybe then a brexit with a deal is possible

Lib dems are the tories. Jo swinson voted for all the worst policies of the conservatives, and now all the tories are leaving their party where are they ending up? Lib dems.

Corbyn has been a mess on Brexit, but Id like to see him get a crack at restoring some balance and fairness to UK society.

I'm not particularly bothered about them giving themselves the pay rises, I just find it horrific what they've done to public sector workers who we all rely on more than we realise.

I'll pass your opinion on to the public, Nicky. They'll get straight on it.

i just hate the smug look and hypocrisy of his most loyal followers The Grant Sisters, and that weirdo Piers Corbyn

with their whole ''we don't know the EU'' well you gotta look it up who the EU are then if you don't know them

''we don't trust the EU'' if you don't even know the EU you can't decide wether or not to trust them

and also those sisters being against the ''elite'' while they are granddaughters of one of the more important people in Bank of Scotland sir alistair grant

and as for Farage, well he's just a bigot who is desperate for attention all the time with his over the top shouting (i have to turn volume down a bit when we get a interview with him on tv)

I agree, but its makes it doubly bad that the sat and accepted payrises while other civil servants had theirs frozen or cut, not one didn't accept their payrise, I think Cameron refused his one year but that was it, but then he backed a payrise of 10 percent for all MPs in 2015

the good news for MPs is we are all so busy calling each other names, we don't notice when their pay goes up !

Yup, so unfair but..not surprising.

Half the MPs dont bother turning up for important votes and stuff either, but when its about yet another rise in their wages, they all manage to make it there.

If the publics wages are frozen, MPs should be too.

Yes the Public Sector has changed.
it started under New Labour

1 in 6 Americans get food poisoning every year, as opposed to 1 in 100 of us currently protected by EU regulations.

How are labour to blame for a 10yr attack on public sector workers?

The US wont do a trade deal with us unless they get access to the NHS. Once they've destroyed food safety, the NHS will be next.

(in the voice of Homer Simpson) Mmmmmm food poisoning.

bots 07-10-2019 02:54 PM

we need to be careful on food standards. There are standards that are essential for good health which I fully endorse and there are those that are much more subjective, like the curve a banana has ... the EU has brought in plenty of those, and we don't need them, it is a waste of food.

It's a myth about the bananas, peddled by an anti-eu press and politicians. Food isn't thrown away, they are just measured on a grading system.
