yeah, not long after she turned, she found out Caroline was a Vampire but she was a complete bitch, said she was no longer her daughter etc so Caroline compelled her to forget again

I've read Klaus is just using Alaric as a medium to speak through to Katherine, so I reckon he'll be appearing soon!

I reckon they'll end up killing Alaric off, They've got John and Jeremy who essentially fill the same role as him and with Isobel dead I can't see him living much longer.
