I love this picture, the graphic designers for Pottermore are so talented.

It's good to know that this would be how Jo viewed Diagon Alley too, when she was writing the books.

Thats so pretty. I love how the films were very close to that vision too.

Niall 16-08-2011 11:22 AM

Omg Boothy  I haven't got mine yet. I hope they do it so that those who registered on day one got first, then day two, then three etc.

The spoiler is a picture from Olivanders. If you want it to be a surprise when you do it, DON'T open it. Only posting in case people want to see it.

It takes some time to get into, like, the first 3 chapters are quite boring. Once you get to Diagon Alley it gets good though.

How does it work? Do you like have to be reading the book as you go along or?

Callum 16-08-2011 12:48 PM

Lucky! I know loads of people who got in and they said they completed the whole book in less than 4 hours. I was hoping that it wasn't going to be too easy.

I tried reading along with the first chapter but it was pretty annoying because I just wanted to go on the site and mess about on there :joker:

I'd say you need a good understanding of the book though.

There are little interactive 'In the story' articles though that give you a brief overview of what's gone on up to the point you're at, which is useful if you've forgotten, so the books aren't really necessary as long as you know the story.

Ohhhhhh I get it. I've only read the first two in the last few days so hopefully I'll understand it all. xD

It sounds/looks so fun though I really want to get my e-mail now so bad. :bawling:

The site's down down. :joker:

I was about to get sorted, clicked on 'Try on the Sorting Hat' and this popped up;

Bastards.

:laugh2: Omg that would've pissed me off so much.

Firewire 16-08-2011 01:51 PM

I have only read Deathly Hallows, does that cause a problem? I have all the books I just wouldn't be able to read them all in like two weeks.

The first three are so short. You'd have them finished in no time.

Erm. You'd probably get more out of it if you have read the books but as long as you know the general story you'll be fine. I take it you've seen the films and stuff? If you have, that should be fine.

Only the first book is on the site at the moment anyway, Chamber of Secrets isn't being released on there until 2012.

What do you think of them compared to the films, Niall. I've decided to re-read them again. Love them so much.

I really liked the first two. I think the films got them perfect and the changes they did make seemed sensible when they made a film from it.

The third one is really awesome so far too and I dare say that the film got Aunt Marge's inflation done better than the book. I only say that because it was a lot funnier when Harry left the house and she was still floating in the sky and screaming.

I've seen the films multiple times and understand them.

I had a hatstall between that and Hufflepuff. Basically means you could be in either house so you get to choose.
