CBB Launch:
Overnights - 5.1m
Officials - 5.3m

First Saturday highlights
Overnights - 2.7m
Official - 3.2m

1.3m (4.9%)

MTVN 03-10-2011 12:17 PM

Glad it's pretty comfortably back above a million, thought last nights HL's were pretty good

joeysteele 03-10-2011 12:36 PM

That was a fairly good figure for Sunday if its right.

Black Dagger 03-10-2011 12:37 PM

It's obviously sticking at 1.3 during the weekly shows... and poorly on a Saturday.

I think next year, ratings could possibly improve if C5 pull their finger out and Endemol help.

Why do you allways talk about next years figures?

You talk like they are testing the water this year or using this comeback show to see what works and what doesnt. This is not the case. It really is make or break with this series.

Jake. 03-10-2011 01:56 PM

I wouldnt call it make or break, after all they have next year under contract. Of coarse the ratings matter, but if marketed correctly and if a good celeb series takes place in January, then viewing figures could increase for BB13

They still have next years show under contract as well so I wouldn't really say this year is 'make or break', even if this series does horrible, they paid £80m for the two year contact so I can't imagine they would cancel it. Then again I don't agree with others who say this is just a test series.

Im not talking about it getting cancelled when i say make or break. I mean now its the time to get the new viewers interested otherwise i cant see them returning.

The only way is down imo.

Yeah, 2 million viewers have already voted with their RCs - they didn't like what they were offered and they won't be coming back next year .....

There's rumours everywhere that the contract is a 5 Year Deal anyway - instead of the 2 Year one for BB13 - that we initially thought.

I agree with you more than it may seem overall, this is a great post on the subject by you.

I don't see this as a test series as such,I do see it as a test series as to what they could do without or how much is likely needed to make it a success.
I feel they set CBB up the same way as they were going to for BB itself, they largely seemed to get away with live feed and extra footage with CBB so BB got the same format.

Clearly figures have fallen, they are though still on or slightly above what lots of people were saying the would be as the norm.
Not good but still a base to build on.
So they know from this test this year what is likely needed to make it a bigger success next year.

CBB did good this year, it will be first on again next year, the audience hopefully back again for that, they can then make the changes they will then know what may be needed to ensure greater viewing figures for the main BB next year.

I still have high hopes for BB on channel 5, of course if they dismiss again the live feed and/or more footage argument then things are unlikely to improve.
Somehow I think live feed in some form will be the main element introduced again to BB next year though.I really hope they do that.

According to DS.

22:00- Big Brother: 1.3m (7.5%)

happybbfan 04-10-2011 09:45 AM

not good ratings for BB when shows that cost a fraction of BB are beating them in the ratings
Rude Tube C4 1.5m (7.3%)
Never Mind the Buzzcocks 1.4m (7.3%)

Black Dagger 04-10-2011 09:45 AM

Meh.. could be much much worse, it's not great for a show that once got 5m... but deep down guys, we knew Big Brother on 5 would not be a 'smash'

Why does it say BB has a higher percentage of the viewing audience when it gets lower ratings :conf2:

I dont know to be honest but DS has buzzcocks at 1.4m http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=2008
I think shows starting/finishing even one minute early or late really messes with the figures it is probably one or the other.

MTVN 04-10-2011 10:40 AM

Hmm might be to do with Buzzcocks and Rudetube only being half hour shows

daniel-lewis-1985, I am surprised at you to say the least, I respect all you say as to BB and never ridicule it even when you rant at times.I also in fact think you should have something to do with BB because your ideas for it to be a great success could work.

Don't laugh at comments you choose to take out of context, read them fully.
I said I didn't see it as a test series meaning overall, I pointed out I felt it was a test series only in that they tried it by seeing what could be done without as to,for example live feed or more footage etc. That does not indicate that it is a test series over the whole format.

Perhaps I should have said trying it out without live feed, that may have been better terminology to use never the less they have 'tried it' without or 'tested' it without any live feed this year, that cannot be denied.
They must also know from this 'test' or trying out' the series without one element of it in place(live feed) that it hasn't been a big success,so my point is that from this 'test' or 'trying out' as to that, they know one major element that could make it a far greater success next year if it was restored to BB.
I did think even you would agree with that point actually rather than set out to joke or ridicule.

If you can only choose to ridicule others posts by taking one bit out of total context then please do so with others posts, I personally do not ridicule yours, in fact I agree with you most of the time but I would prefer it if you cannot be constructive that you don't respond to mine when all you can do is ridicule.

You have done it a few times now and I am requesting you stop doing so, please. Thank you.
