I swear in the earlier ML's it always took a few days for 50 people to get 2 votes, now it only takes a few hours and there's more big names missing out each time, shows that this place hasn't been dying as badly as people sometimes say

Your post makes good points MTVN.
I was stunned, even moreso at Mock and Vicky not making this list but it was amazing when after what seemed only a short time from midnight that Zee said he already had 38 people through with the min 3 noms.

GypsyGoth 26-05-2013 08:44 PM

Wow thank you for those who voted for me

And not everyone I voted for made it

Aww thankyou, likewise! I hope you do really well :amazed:

Marc 26-05-2013 10:29 PM

Maybe the voting shouldn't be a race in the future. I dunno.. There's always a few shockers

But tbh I imagine this is really stressful for Zee so I wouldn't wanna suggest something that might make it more complicated than it already is

Novo 26-05-2013 10:34 PM

please don't complicate things for him Marc

joeysteele 26-05-2013 10:40 PM

I think possibly with the announcements and some details being known for the last 2 weeks or so that people have got really interested and were determined to get their noms in asap which likely meant some people missed getting any noms in.

Zee though does this to perfection and in the end he really cannot control how slow or how fast the 3 nominations needed for to get through are achieved.

It could all be very different come the ML poll that will come in November or thereabouts.

Novo 26-05-2013 10:43 PM

Very wise and true as always Joey

It doesn't mean ther are more members though, just the same members voting for each other.
Opening the vote at midnight and it being practically full by 2am shows you that.

Marc 26-05-2013 10:46 PM

Yeah the run up meant everybody just wanted to vote early and had their lists ready

Well,I kind of did after amending my lists 3 times before this opened then had to amend it again.
I agree though, the run up made far more vote earlier, after all Zee had got over 40 sets of nominations between midnight and early this morning.
That is pretty good going.

MTVN 26-05-2013 10:54 PM

Maybe Zee could devise a system where the number of nominations each member receives is multiplied by their post count, and then divided by the number of months they have been a member, thus giving a reflection of general contribution to the forum, and then in round two this can be used as a handicap system by which points are worth more or less accordingly, then after that you add each members previous positions in the top 50 - if there are any - together, and divide those by the number of previous competitions they have been a part of to ensure the overall result is also an indication of how each members has become more or less appreciated over time

That would be much fairer I think

Shaun 26-05-2013 10:55 PM

and also ridiculously complicated...

Allow me to play double advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go.
Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn’t take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It’s clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts, instead of making a half-harded effort. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother’s mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like its a peach of cake.

Shaun 26-05-2013 10:59 PM

oh we're taking the piss

oh the comedy

how did i miss it

Marsh. 26-05-2013 10:59 PM

I thought it was only a bit of fun anyway, what's the need in making it so complicated just to make it fair?

Is it really all that worth it?

This isn't Eurovision being hit by politics. Or is it? :suspect:

Edit - oh, Mod humour.

joeysteele 26-05-2013 11:00 PM

I like the way Zee does it, see no need for change really unless he decided sometime in the future that to qualify for the 2nd round you needed a few more nominations.
