Speaking of Suzy, I really hope she qualifies. Quero Ser Tua is growing on me and more and more, and I don't want the final to just be ballads and moderate songs, I want some fast-paced ones too :p

Eurovision UK jury headed by vocal coach Carrie Grant

Eurovision Song Contest organisers have named all the national jury members for this year's competition.

The UK's five-strong panel will be headed up by TV vocal coach and former Fame Academy judge Carrie Grant. It also features soprano Laura Wright, music producer Steve Allen, DJ Candice McKenzie and writer/composer Gus Gowland.

It is the first time jury members have been revealed ahead of the contest in a bid to create more transparency.

Sony Ireland's general manager Patrick Hughes will chair Ireland's jury, which also sees Charlie McGettigan - who won the competition in 1994 with Paul Harrington - on the panel.

Liam Reilly, who also represented Ireland as a singer in 1990 as a songwriter in 1991, is on the jury along with DJ Jenny Greene and reality show winner Leanne Moore.

Jury members - who must all be music industry professionals - will be asked to judge vocal capacity, performance, composition of the song and overall impression by the act.

The national juries will vote in one semi-final and the final, counting towards 50% of the overall vote. Each jury's individual rankings will also be published immediately afterwards. This year's contest is being held in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the final broadcast on 10 May. Molly Smitten-Downes will represent the UK this year with her song Children of the Universe.

Can't believe it's just over a week until the final.

It seems only yesterday I was marking out over Conchita Wurst being revealed for Austria.

Full rehearsals of 2 of the favourites..

Sweden -

Spoiler:

Armenia -

Spoiler:

just realised how ugly the armenian entry is :idc:

I think Sweden has overtaken Belgium as my least favourite, boring ass overrated bint. Will be furious if I've been excited since September for her to win.

Loukas 02-05-2014 01:28 PM

Looking at both of their performances makes me feel even more confident about Molly. I really hope she at least moves about and utilises the space!

Come on Molly

I'm so ready, if they dare screw her over with a terrible running order, I'll be furious.

Germany, France, Spain would make far better first draw performances. France in the middle of it for the fun factor, Germany early on and Spain to close it.

Loukas 02-05-2014 02:13 PM

Same!! Furious is actually the right word tbh lol

umm i want her to perform (like i've said 7000 times before) between like 16th and 22nd

Loukas 02-05-2014 02:33 PM

from 2.34 she mentions some kinda idea for the staging
please dont stay still molly!

Yes. This is exactly needed. I can just about cope with 12th onwards. Before that is a joke.

First semi final on Tuesday :dazzler:

Headie 02-05-2014 07:46 PM

I still feel like it's ours to lose providing we get second half.

This poll has got 5 out of the last 7 winners correct, and pretty much represents televoting:

Benjamin 02-05-2014 07:54 PM

Molly has **** all stage presence, she needs to work on that or she'll fall flat.

Black Dagger 02-05-2014 07:59 PM

She has more than the other ballad singers (Bar Conchita), Axel & Sanna are just.. I can't.

My hate for poor Sanna, it's going to get worse next week.

I like Sanna, she is up there with better acts this year.

Black Dagger 02-05-2014 08:16 PM

I'm happy she finally got to represent them, seeing her flop every time in Melfest was a bit sad. But it's just awful. I think it's easily my least favourite of the year, and I hate knowing that a song I dislike will do well, she's got top 5 sewn up and if she's got a late slot, they can effectively crown her the winner

Loukas 02-05-2014 08:58 PM

still don't like the song but she's owned her second rehearsal. This performance could be one of the best on the night!

Ukraine's second rehearsal

You could see her nerves, I think that was filmed a while back though, it was effectively her 2nd performance, in front of A-listers as well, confident for her chances now she's been performing more <3.
