Someone from DS who knows someone from Hollyoaks (they've said Carmel and Sonny died before it happened, told DS Doug and Leanne died before they did) has revealed that we're led to believe Freddie killed Mercedes, but they fake her death. Jen is apparently coming back within a year.

In the video interview they did for DS, Metcalfe made it sound temporary by saying she wanted a rest/break whereas the girl who played Carmel spoke about wanting to do other work.

I think Jen is doing a Jorgie - leaving and then returning 8 or so months later. Jorgie left in November (Theresa departed in January) and came back in June (Theresa came back in August), maybe that's what Jen is going to do. Nicole Barbara Lane (Myra) also did this, but was off screen for a year. I bet she's hoping and praying the producer leaves in that time, he's awful.

I think it's fine, you could say it for Carmel/Tina - both sisters, both died in explosions or anything, they're not being used for the exact same story and I'd imagine considering how fast paced things are in Hollyoaks now, Grace's fall won't even be remembered by next Friday.
