That would be amazing. Urgh, Corrie is untouchable when it really tries. Kate Oates has really been incredible, whatever the poor delicate flowers who want to watch hotpots all week long say.

I think they meant they didn't want the usual half hour gap between two episodes, they're running it as one hour long episode.

I can't see itv agreeing to no commercials.

Dont the have to have ad breaks legally?

Vanessa 01-05-2018 10:12 AM

Shane Ward is on This Morning later.

o
I think they will have ad breaks. But it's one episode. Instead of the two we normally get.

This is such a shame because I was starting to like Aidan. I didn’t like him very much before but I like him now. Also, he commits suicide on my birthday?

Matthew. 01-05-2018 10:33 AM

Shayne Ward’s about to appear on This Morning now.

There were times during the affair with Maria where I couldn’t stand him but I actually really like him now after giving Carla a kidney and his little friendship with Summer. So sad, but it’s such a powerfully important storyline

At least it makes David realise that he needs to speak up. Can't wait for the 9. Its going to be an amazing episode!

Amy Jade 01-05-2018 11:02 AM

The Maria storyline with him cheating on Eva and then him making himself out the victim when she dumped him at the alter ruined his character but in fairness Kate and the SR have reversed that somewhat I think with him befriending and being kind to Summer even though he knows she has a crush on him, obviously giving Carla a kidney and him standing up for Alya during the race storyline. He's not somebody I will miss to be honest but he's far from detestable like he once was.

Can they kill Simon off next please? That sulky ****ing face on it it driving me mad.

Vanessa 01-05-2018 11:09 AM

Jim Mcdonald is coming back!

Vanessa 01-05-2018 11:12 AM

Jack Shephard making the shortlist makes me so happy. I'm really enjoying his storyline. Not easy to watch, but brilliantly acted by all involved.

Shane Ward's best scene is his wanking on skype

Meh.

What is really clever with the Aidan story is how it links to David's story. Apparently Aidan's suicide pushes David into talking about his rape.

Yes, its going to be such a heartbreaking episode :bawling:

Vanessa 01-05-2018 12:16 PM

Apparently Josh
Spoiler:

will be arrested this summer. But no idea if he actually goes to jail or not.

I was hoping Eva and Aidan to leave together and have some happy ending but ofc Kate wants to do another dark storyline straight after another dark on. I know it could save lives and it’s important etc but happy endings do happen and not everything is dark in real life.

Rob! 01-05-2018 12:52 PM

I’m not having a go here Luke honestly my love.

But if sacrificing a happy ending for two fictional characters helps save lives, which this story undoubtedly will do, I don’t think it can be seen as a bad thing.

Denver 01-05-2018 12:54 PM

Should be glad it stops them bringing him back next year after he decided he made a mistake quitting

There’s another guy leaving and Zeedan is also a good choice for suicide but honestly Aiden,Eva and the baby should have left together in the sun set, something different. I’m not asking for much but it would be nice to have something good happen in soaps because life is good and bad not just bad.

Rob! 01-05-2018 01:28 PM

How do you come to the conclusion that any character is “good” for a suicide story? Just because his wife left him to become a lesbian? :joker:

The whole point in it happening to Aidan is that it’s supposed to be a shock. He’s got a successful business of his own, money finally coming in, and a loving family around him. And not one of them know what he’s internally going through. Which is refelective of most suicides.

Because he is also a male and leaving and it would be a shock, any suicide is a shock tbh even if you know what they are going through.

I'd just started watching Corrie again when I heard about this new storyline. I think I'll stop again.........
