No body is taking about the ridiculously long amount of stoppage time that was played :joker:

Bottom line is that if it's a decision that can be so fiercely debated then its a decision that VAR should not be making, it should stay with the on field decision

Not standing in the penalty box it isn't

We should be applauding the acheivement of overturning the first leg with 3 teenagers on the pitch at the end :clap1: not bitching about the result :hee:

Uefa backs VAR decision that gave Man Utd penalty against PSG

Uefa has backed the video assistant referee system's decision to award Manchester United an injury-time penalty that knocked Paris St-Germain out of the Champions League.

Diogo Dalot's shot hit Presnel Kimpembe's arm but was only deemed a spot-kick after the VAR intervention.

Injured PSG forward Neymar called the decision a "disgrace".

But Uefa said the distance the ball covered was "not short" and Kimpembe's arm was "not close" to his body.

Based on this, it added that "the impact could therefore not be unexpected" and "the defender's body [was made] bigger thus resulting in the ball being stopped from travelling in the direction of the goal.

"The referee, therefore, awarded a penalty kick.

VAR is showing how much the handball rule is based on interpretation.

Does anyone think they should consider changing the rule so that if the ball hits a hand (whether it was accidental or not) in the penalty box they should give a free kick, and only give a penalty if it stops a shot on goal?

a blip. It will take a few years to get Man U back to where it used to be, and then another few to get them competitive with today's standards

bots 05-05-2019 03:45 PM

nice to see the team reach new heights and hang on to a draw against the devastating Huddersfield

Denver 05-05-2019 03:47 PM

Ole the saviours but fails to get CL football

Crimson Dynamo 05-05-2019 04:26 PM

Its time to realise they are no longer a big club. Since Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United have finished seventh, fourth, fifth, sixth, second and now fifth or sixth.

They will struggle to get players for next season as who would want to go there to be midtable.?

Man U need an overhaul. arsenal are currently drawing at home with Brighton :bored:

The power in the Premiership how lies wih City, Liverpool and Spurs. Even Chelsea are mediocre. Ten years ago I would never have imagined coming out with a statement like that.

Nicky91 05-05-2019 05:07 PM

City would be nowhere either, without that 700 million budget

GiRTh 05-05-2019 05:17 PM

When Abramovich sells Chelsea City will be the only team with a billionaire owner spending like crazy. I dont think many will be able to compete.

The three clubs with probably the best manager/head coach are the top three IMO. Just shows how much it matters to get the right people running the club

I remember when the power belonged to Everton! And it will do again soon. You can't keep a great club down for too long.

Alf 05-05-2019 05:24 PM

No champions league football for Arsenal means that you're way down the pecking order when it comes to signing the best players.

GiRTh 05-05-2019 05:26 PM

Agree. We're in decline and with only 45 million to spend I dont anticipate much improvement.

Crimson Dynamo 05-05-2019 05:30 PM

man u and arsenal are a disgrace

giving it up to a terrible inconsistent Chelsea with a bonkers manager?

shocking

How's your youth set up? Maybe you should give some kids an opportunity? Short term it might be tough, but could pay off long term.

Chelsea hiring a manager who's never won anything was a bit of an eye opener at the state of the club.

bots 05-05-2019 06:00 PM

it's only city and liverpool that deserve to be in the champions league, the rest have been dreadful throughout the season
