Launch - 1.25m (+345k)
Sunday - 1.24m (+485k)

This is the best *ever* viewer retention for the first highlights show, and 485k is higher than ANY consolidation from last year. 1.25m doesn’t look good but that is the same as last year’s overall average, which is impressive considering the overnight average is down nearly 200k

.

Urgh so nice to see 1m numbers attached to the show again. Wow that retention is incredible and shows just how well the cast has gone down with viewers. It shouldn’t stray too far from those numbers considering the overnights either

Fantastic! When do they come in and what do you think they’ll add?

Not yet - hopefully by next week they will count My5, I’ve heard from good source that the demand has been higher than ever for this series! 🤞🏼

Will they be added on to the first officials or are we going to end up with a week where the HL’s are like 200k above the launch?

lol probably the latter - although when 28 day officials are counted it may boost the first 2 episodes up with them, not sure

.

Yeah that’s honestly terrible whichever way you look at it. I am surprised it’s flopped as much as it has, especially against a lower than even last year BB, in fact I thought The Circle would finish it off altogether but BB has barely been affected.

bots 24-09-2018 12:36 PM

it's changed from being a warm, wet circle to a dried up stain

supertv247 24-09-2018 12:39 PM

Just to add - those 2 episodes of bbuk are the 2 joint most watched programmes on Channel 5 from the WHOLE of last week, only behind CBB and the Yorkshire Vet which had 10k more  C5 are stupid

Greg! 24-09-2018 12:43 PM

I honestly believe if it was aired after a year or so break on ITV2 it would get similar ratings to LI. A 9pm time slot, better and wider reaching promotion, the interest in it being revived etc.

I’m away until next Sunday, would someone mind keeping a tally so I can update the OP when I’m back?

Ha! That’s turned round and shot Channel 5 in the face :joker:

The least watched bb ever, one that C5 don’t care about, and it’s still their most watched show.
Now imagine they actually made effort with it, gave it a good schedule, promoted it. It would be far and away above all of their other shows :smug:

Crimson Dynamo 24-09-2018 01:22 PM

is that station run by total eejits?

Rob! 24-09-2018 01:25 PM

Goes to show it’s definitely the scheduling that’s the cause of the low overnights. Yes the overnights are awful but if it’s adding over 400k on the officials before the catch up figures have even been added then it’s nowhere near as bad. At least this series SHOULD be able to bow out with its head held reasonably high although there is still a long way to go.

Can someone help me understand all the "phases" of the rating?
Overnight, +1, catchup, officials, any other forms - what exactly they are and if they're included or not and when?
I'm not familiar with the system in the UK and I keep seeing these numbers changing and adding up all the time

I don’t fully understand it myself but from what I can gather:

Overnights and +1: These are the viewers that watched it live or an hour later in +1, which is the channel that airs programmes an hour later than the show was originally broadcast.

The officials add people who recorded it on Sky+ or whatever as well as those that streamed it live on the Channel 5 website.

Catchup, which is soon to be added to the officials, are the ones who watch it on any catch up service like my5 including from laptops, tablets and downloads from TV catchup services.

supertv247 24-09-2018 02:17 PM

Not quite..

Overnight ratings - the number of people who watch it live, on the +1 hour channel, or on the same day of broadcast before 2am (via recording / if they paused etc)

Official consolidations - the number of people who watched overnight + all those who watched it recorded within 7 days after broadcast

None of these yet include viewers who stream it on the website or catch up via My5’s on demand service, but these numbers should be added soon, hopefully next week.

Rob! 24-09-2018 02:20 PM

Ah okay thanks

If they don't introduce the catch up figures next week I'll be so annoyed.

Thanks!
So they don't include the on-demand services?! This is silly, we're already in 2018. It's actually more important than the recorded show, because in All4/my5 there are actual ads, whereas people can just fast forward them when recording - financially, the latter his less crucial
