They were blocked from entering parliament square on Westminster bridge because of the banner they held.

Of course he would prefer it to end!
It was the same for the suffragettes.

The suffragettes militancy actually delayed and hindered votes for women.

They decided to leave incendiary devices in churches, in trains, on commuter trains, burn down MPs’ houses, to attack and take out communications from telegraph and telephone wires between London and Glasgow. They also sent dangerous chemicals in the mail to injure innocent people

A nasty bunch of terrorists

How can you even compare the plight for suffrage with this nonsense? Fighting to give women the right to vote was a tangible and necessary cause.

What would compelling the government to call for a ceasefire actually achieve? Neither side would listen.

That was the militant wing of the women's suffrage movement. The majority were moderates who marched in solidarity and posted leaflets and it was those moderate suffragettes who, after years of peaceful protest, convinced an increasing number of MPs to support female suffrage.

If people can't march for their beliefs, then we no longer live in a democracy. There's many marches I can't stand, but I respect their right to do it.

So the deaths of over 30,000 people, most of them women and children is a silly reason to protest because the government won't do anything?

What these protests are showing... around the world... and at the UN is that millions of people have had enough of the war mongering and our government that have stood idly by, now have a big black stain on them.

Why are people so invested in a conflict on the other side of Europe?

There's not even anything to "protest" about, because it's nothing to do with us or our government.

“Yemen Yemen do us proud turn another ship around”

I bring it to the attention of two officers who show zero interest.

Tell me it’s being recorded and that’s it.

British servicemen were just killed by the group referenced

This.

Protests may inconvenience people sometimes, or unfortunately a few lunatics might hijack the protest, but ultimately people just sitting back and actively wanting to silence protesters just because they don't ideologically agree with them, is a slippery slope.

Spoken like a true person who has not got a business in central London nor has to get there to work in the thousands of retail outlets

(Pro-Palestinian protesters blocked the entrance to Cleveland airport on Saturday. They caused massive delays and traffic. People had to get out of their cars and walk to make their flights.

Not a single arrest was made.)

No mention is made of how London has become a no go area for jewish people every weekend

arista 30-03-2024 12:18 PM

GBnewsHD
have a Live reporter on Today's protest
she has a plain mic.

On the first march she was attacked
court case pending.
Some was shown on TV
a nasty bunch attacking the free press.

She has seen some Jewish Protestors
there, who asks can their relatives become free from Hamas.

Livia 30-03-2024 12:27 PM

Why aren't people calling for a ceasefire calling on Hamas to hand back the hostages? A ceasefire would follow.
