Interesting.

Fwiw, im sure you don't know much, if anything about her presenting football and punditry skills, well i'll tell you honestly, she isn't a bad person, but she's annoying and mostly wrong.

But she gets the job for 3 reasons, she ticks boxes at the far right BBC. Black, Woman, Gay.

You will read that as me hating her, being a right wing racist etc. But the fact of the matter is, if ANYONE was good at a job, their race and sexuality don't mean a thing to me.

I agree with her.

It seems Con MPs become more reasonable and fairer once they leave the Party.

I've agreed with loads she's said since leaving the Cons.
She still criticises Labour and mostly she's right to do so.

On this issue though, she's dead right.

I have a serious question.

If my television identifies itself as a microwave, does that mean that I don't have to pay my TV licence?

Liam- 10-03-2023 08:09 PM

Nothing but facts

:fist: stop denying microwaves exist

Alf 10-03-2023 08:11 PM

Better times for Gary.

Alf 10-03-2023 08:14 PM

He was my absolute number 1 hero at that time. I wanted to be him when I grew up. I had that kit with his number on the back. It was number 8.

Thankfully I grew up into me instead.

Beso 10-03-2023 08:24 PM

So who's presenting?

Rylan?

Nice to see them rolling out the football experts for comment. She's always talked balls.

I care about freedom of speech, it's honestly a shame that the BBC doesn't.

Unfortunately the BBC are bias , Sugar and certain other favourites can say what they like it seems.

BBC says Match of the Day to air without presenter or pundits this week.

Beso 10-03-2023 08:30 PM

Bout time the lefties got a slap in the face anyway.

Which should tell you that this is nothing but an orchestrated distraction story. Lineker is probably paid to be in on it.

What they did to us with Covid is the real story they want to go away.

More football, less yapping. Everyone's a winner.

Crimson Dynamo 10-03-2023 08:50 PM

I didn't take the Covid vaccine, if that's what you mean by an "anti-vaxxer?"

But the vaccine is just a part of what was done to us. There's much more to it than that. And that's why our attention is on Gary Lineker.

The BBC also has specific rules over the use of social media for all employees, including freelancers.

These are:

Always behave professionally, treating others with respect and courtesy at all times: follow the BBC’s values
Don’t bring the BBC into disrepute

If your work requires you to maintain your impartiality, don’t express a personal opinion on matters of public policy, politics, or ‘controversial subjects’ (as defined by Ofcom)

Don’t criticise your colleagues in public. Respect the privacy of the workplace and the confidentiality of internal announcements

Gary Lineker has previously argued that he is a freelance sports presenter and added that the BBC rules "only apply to people in news and current affairs".

No doubt you'll be calling for Andrew Neil and Alan Sugar next?

Tom4784 10-03-2023 09:06 PM

You mean to tell me the same crowd that whines about 'cancel culture' actively pushed to try to cancel Gary Linekar becuase his opinion hurt their ickle feelings?

Right Wingers are just hypocrites.

Notice how the people cheering this on are very silent about Andrew Neil, Fiona Bruce, Laura Kuensberg, Richard Sharp and Alan Sugar, but hypocrites gonna be hypocrites.
