Yeah essentially incumbent governments are being voted out everywhere. The US isn't as unique as either it thinks or the rest of the world seems to think. Seeing everyone in the UK and Europe raging about how Americans voted is mental imo, they're just normal people facing and responding to very similar challenges as everywhere else in the West

I agree, I think there's lots of "protest" type voting going on all over in western countries.

Yes Everything going up in Price.

Harris did not do Policy - Pathetic Coward
not even speaking to the press

At the end of the day, it's democracy in action. Not every result goes the way people think/want it to. It's certainly going to be different. I disagree about the main driver being the pandemic. This result is much deeper rooted and relates to voters dissatisfaction going back well over a decade. The pandemic didn't help the dems, but this is about rebelling against an environment of acceptance and tolerance that does not reflect the views of 50% of the population

Crimson Dynamo 06-11-2024 10:59 AM

and all these popstsars who endorsed Harris too

Yeah, the pandemic and all the rules that came with it certainly heightened those feeling amongst people though imo

i would actually go further because Trump found new voters above what people thought was his natural ceiling, and I think that is because his opponent was a black woman tied to the progressive left of the dems which became a focal point for trump voters to further rebel against

The Slim Reaper 06-11-2024 11:07 AM

After 50 years of neoliberal destruction of living standards by the right, in cahoots with the smug centrists that parrot their policies but without the frothing fervour, people have had enough.

Trump ran to the left of the democratic candidate on issues like war. Refusal to separate herself from Biden, despite the fact he had to drop out because he'd reached insane levels of unpopularity, was the stupidest move of all time.

They gave people nothing to vote for, except arrogance.

The exact same thing is coming here. We have 2 parties in agreement that nothing should ever be better for everyday people, which has only ever paved the way for extremism. I've warned about this on here for years.

She is not part of the progressive left. If she'd offered some left wing policies, she would have had a better chance.

The woke lefties are losing it on X

and the fact they are doing it on X is hilarious

No! Isn't it bad enough we're likely to get James Cordon back?

Liam- 06-11-2024 11:36 AM

Yeah, perhaps telling people that you wouldn’t really do anything differently than what’s currently happening, while every poll suggests the country isn’t happy with what’s happening, wasn’t really the brightest idea

Maybe the Democrats
will protect him?

i actually liked Harris, she was thrown into the race without a chance to properly define herself. She should have thrown Biden under the bus. Her message of turning the page while supporting the Biden agenda just didn't seem believable to voters

Ultimately, Biden should never have run for a second term, that would have allowed proper primaries to take place where candidates earned the right to stand for president

Oh yeah she was by far the superior candidate, easily one of the most qualified candidates for a long time, I think she would have made an amazing president, but yeah looking at it now, I think any candidate would have beaten her, it’s just a massive shame it had to be that neanderthal, but they’re gonna deserve everything they get now though

Agreed. This was probably her biggest downfall. It’s a shame really

Crimson Dynamo 06-11-2024 12:13 PM

Trump slashed the Democrat lead among 18-29 years from about 24 points to around 13 points (exit poll).

Gen Z males are abandoning the woke dems and voting Trump!

Glenn. 06-11-2024 12:22 PM

Congratulations to your sexual offender winning! Must be so proud!

Make sure you hug all the women in your lives a little tighter today.

Glenn. 06-11-2024 12:27 PM

You’d think being a rapist would be enough for people to not support you but obviously not.

Vanessa 06-11-2024 12:37 PM

So many sour grapes, I'm loving it :joker:

MTVN 06-11-2024 12:40 PM

Very poor that Kamala is still silent. Surely her supporters deserved a few words of thanks last night and surely the country deserves a concession from her this morning now that the result has been clear for hours

Glenn. 06-11-2024 12:40 PM

It’s sour grapes to not be happy that a rapist is president!

I have women in my life that I cherish and the thought of them being raped and the rapist being worshipped makes me sick. As should it be for everyone

well no surprise this whole outcome when the dems select a candidate with 0% Charisma

and they were kinda trying too hard either to appeal to the younger voters with the help by the popstars to tell their fans to vote for Kamala

the dems really should've let the people choose their candidate honestly
