Leona Lewis has decided to take a break from her trademark ballads and working on dance music, it has emerged. The pop singer has won accolades for her emotive tracks such as Bleeding Love and Run, but she is now keen to change her direction.

She has teamed up with American producer Timbaland for new music. According to Britain's Daily Mirror, Timbaland is hoping to make her sound similar to that of R&B stars Beyonce Knowles and Rihanna.

“Timbaland can''t wait to work with Leona and make her feisty like Beyonce and Rihanna,” Contactmusic quoted a source as saying. "The ballads will still be there but the tracks will be racier and there'll be dance floor anthems too," the source added.

It's just been revealed that Leona Lewis is set to work with British production duo Xenomania on her highly anticpated sophomore album.

"We are not going to change Leona's style but it's interesting for us to do something downbeat; tragic songs with a twist." says Xenomania songwriter Miranda Cooper.

You might be unfamiliar with Xenomania, but they're known for their dance/pop music, and have most notably worked with The Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Kylie & Dannii Minogie, Sophie Ellis Baxtor, Gabriella Cilmi, Cher, and Alisha Dixon.
I'm.. not gonna comment.
Saw this on SIN and thought y'all should see.

Good, I think that's what Leona needs, they need to force that personality down her throat!

Was reading this yesterday. I am not sure what i think? I Love all of her ballads. But on her album now, her r&b stuff isn't bad. Most of it is really good. So.. Will have to wait and see i suppose

M X 12-04-2009 10:05 AM

Well.. I'm sure whatever she does will be great:)!

This album seems a bit all over the place to me.
1.She said ages ago the album will have a more live feel, and that shes going to work with a few bands.Since then One Republic,Maroon 5,The Script & All American Rejects have shown instrest in working with her
2.Shs working with Timbaland & a few other hip hop producers which would suggest the album will be more hip hop and dancey souns
3The Script & Ruth Anne Cunningham,2 rnb soul artist are writing for her
4.Guy Chambers & Xenomania along with countless other writers who specialize in British Pop are working with her

I think it's what she neeeds. She released a good album. It was good but it wasn't AMAZING.

Working with all these great people can only be good for her. She's had success all around the world and the second album will be the real test for her to maintain that.

xDramatick 12-04-2009 10:22 AM

Maroon 5, AAR, OneRepublic

Lewis. 12-04-2009 10:23 AM

I want her to have an iconinc track really. She needs to come back with a bang. a REally big ballad is what she needs, there were not many on her album. Then, i wont mind if the rest are R&B. If she does have hip-hop and R&B, i hope for her sake that they are not cheap backing tracks. I'm you, from Spirit, was basically cheap, and the worst on the album.

Well I think Spirit is amazing.

Im not reffering to her success though. You cant have 4 genres on the same album. On Spirit all we got was Pop,Pop-R&B and a tiny bit of Pop-Rock.I hope she sticks with that "live feel" she was on about, keeps working with the Soul writers(Justin,The Script etc.),does some uptempo material with Timbo and maybe a few other producers but forgets about Pop alltogether!we had enough of that in Spirit.

M X 12-04-2009 11:03 AM

I'm really looking foward to her new album!

Fom 12-04-2009 11:06 AM

Spirit was great but very samey, i like each song but I can't listen to the album in one go, it bores me. The second album will define her, she needs to do it right.

M X 12-04-2009 11:12 AM

Yeah.

Fom 14-04-2009 11:07 PM

Its terrible... but this makes me laugh!

Almost as much as the fake album cover Billy posted.

M X 15-04-2009 02:54 PM

Ohh.. I don't think she does.

Harry! 15-04-2009 02:56 PM

I hated 'Bleeding Love' when it was released because I wantes the Spice Girls 'Headlines' to go to no.1. Now I love the song.

*Rant over*
