Hey gang! More news for you today!

Madonna :Madonna’s toyboy Jesus Luz claims platonic relations

Rumours of Madonna and her alleged toyboy Jesus Luz set to tie the knot have fallen flat after the Brazilian model tagged the singer “nothing but a friend”.
The two first met in December last year at a photoshoot for W magazine, which depicted them in a string of provocative snaps, just days before the Queen of Pop put an official seal on her divorce with Guy Ritchie.

The pair had since then been photographed hopping the world, sparking romance rumours and a wedding in a Kabbalah commitment ceremony.

But the 22-year-old has now blasted the claims, insisting the 50-year-old superstar is just a friend whom he admires.

“She is someone I truly admire, a friend who is in my life, who I have worked with, and who I keep in touch with,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying on Brazilian TV show Fantastico.

“I can’t say anything else besides that. She is a friend, and nothing but a friend,” he added. Luz further said he was least bothered about being tagged as the diva’s toyboy.

He added: “Actually I have never cared about what other people say about me because if I let people’s negativity enter my life then I will not be able to stay focused and follow my path.”

According to the News Of The World, the star has decided to involve 22-year-old boyfriend Jesus Luz in her latest plans to to adopt a Nigerian child .

A source told the newspaper: “She was distraught when her adoption failed in Malawi as her bid was blocked by the country’s High Court.

Madonna 'will be allowed to adopt Mercy'

Madonna has convinced three Malawian appeal judges to allow her to adopt Mercy James, according to reports.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph...w_1383353a.jpg

A court had previously denied the singer, 50, the chance to adopt Mercy, but two of the judges have allegedly submitted reports recommending the adoption while the third is said be "in complete unison with them".

The ruling is set to be announced next Sunday at Malawi's Supreme Court of Appeal.

A source told The Sun: "The paperwork is being typed up now.

"All recommendations are in favour of the adoption taking place. Mercy should start packing her bags. She's off to America."

A friend of Madonna's said the singer was "ecstatic", adding: "She made a promise that she wouldn't give up on Mercy and, believe me, she could move mountains when she's this determined."

In a surprise ruling in April, a judge turned down the interim adopting application ruling the popstar could not take the girl to the USA. Malawi's laws state adoptive parents must be living in the country for at least 18 months, so government child welfare officers can monitor them to confirm their suitability.

Despite this, Madonna had been widely expected to succeed in her bid for adoption, having already adopted three-year-old Malawian David Banda. She had been granted an interim adoption for David in 2006 and immediately took him to Britain. The adoption process was completed last year.

Human rights groups have argued that allowing Madonna to adopt the child would encourage trafficking and perhaps even attract Western paedophiles.

Catholic Protest Madonna Show

Show could be axed.....

A group of orthodox Catholics are currently attempting to have a Madonna show postponed.

Madonna's 'Sticky And Sweet' tour has shattered box office records. The singer just keeps getting more ambitious, with Madonna following her 'Hard Candy' album with a spectacular world wide jaunt.

Taking in a record number of dates, 'Sticky And Sweet' was the highest grossing tour of 2008. However Madonna's professional success was met with personal failure as the singer's marriage to British director collapsed.

The performer made frequent mention to her marriage difficulties, at one point dedicating a song to the "emotionally retarded" onstage. However the divorce didn't halt Madonna, who toured incessantly throughout proceedings.

Announcing a series of new dates across the globe, the 'Sticky And Sweet' tour is due to roll into Poland over the summer. That is, unless a group of orthodox Catholics get their way.

Madonna's show in Warsaw is due to take place on August 15th, which coincides with the Assumption Of Mary Feast. The group are calling on government officials to cancel the show, and plan to picket the venue if it goes ahead.

The singer's stage plans won't help matters. Using an enormous glowing cross the 'Sticky And Sweet' tour has endured criticism from Christian groups since it opened over a year ago.

During a concert in Rome last year Madonna dedicated the track 'Like A Virgin' to The Pope, shocking Catholics across the globe. Of course, the international sex symbol has frequently angered church figures before.

A Roman Catholic Cardinal in Chile last year attacked the singer claiming she "provokes a crazy enthusiasm, an enthusiasm of lust, lustful thoughts, impure thoughts.”

In addition to this, Russian christian groups have requested that the singer refrain from blaspheming at a scheduled August show as it is near a church.

Madonna has yet to comment on the row concerning her Polish show. The singer is due to play Warsaw on August 15th.

'Nude madonna' artist awarded OBE

An artist who famously depicted Madonna in the nude has said that he was "very proud" after being awarded an OBE.

But Peter Howson revealed that he almost did not find out about the award - because the letter went to the wrong address.

And the former war artist admitted he found his best-known work - showing Madonna naked with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie - "embarrassing".

DJ Enferno Dishes on Madonna

http://d-images.okmagazine.com/img/p...arge/31635.gif

If you've ever wanted to know what it's like to work with Madonna, the Queen of Pop and undeniable music legend, keep reading.

DJ Enferno, who collaborated with Madonna on her tour, told OK! all about the Materia Girl. Her music director just happened to catch one of his live shows, and sent him a text.

"I always tell people, you never know when you’re going to get a break or your shot in life so you have to keep doing what you’re doing," he tells OK!.

So what's she like to work with?

“She’s amazing. I was a little intimidated going in to work with her," he reveals. "She’s a very clever and witty person. She’ll have a joke or something or one of us will have to tell a joke. She makes it very loose.”

She's not all fun and games though, completely the opposite, dishes Enferno.

“She is so on the go. She would go from our rehearsal to the dancing rehearsal. She’s like a machine. That’s one of the things about her that’s very fascinating. After our rehearsals, she’s got to go across the street and workout physically with the dancers and then I don’t know what she does in her off days," he admits. "It’s like clockwork. She just goes hard. There’s no slacking.”

Somehow we're not surprised that Madge is no slacker.

Madonna Adoption Dad Shocked By Ruling

The man who claims to be the father of Madonna's new adopted child says he did not expect the star to get his daughter.

http://news.sky.com/sky-news/content...2/15304369.jpg

The singer was given permission by a Malawian court to adopt four-year-old Mercy James on Friday, and is expected to take custody of the girl later today or tomorrow.

It is understood most members of Mercy's family agree with the decision.

But James Kambewa said he wanted to look after his child.

"I did not expect this outcome. I did not think the court would rule in this way," he said.

"Right now I do not know what to do so I'm keeping quiet.

http://news.sky.com/sky-news/content...1/15254802.jpg

"I will have to sit down with my people and strategise on the way forward but right now I have not decided on my next course of action."

He added: "My last word is that if my efforts fail I wish my daughter the best of luck and it is my prayer she would be well looked after."

Mr Kambewa admitted last month he had never met his daughter and has only seen her picture in newspapers and on television.

Madonna's initial attempt to adopt the girl was blocked by Malawian authorities because she had not lived in the country for 18 months.

Officials said that meant they had not been given time to assess her suitability as a parent.

However, that decision was reversed last week.

The country's Supreme Court of Appeal said the decision by a lower court was a narrow interpretation of old laws.

The singer already has one adopted Malawian son, David Banda.

Malawi welcomes Madonna adoption

The decision to grant pop star Madonna the right to adopt a second Malawian child has been warmly received by many in the southern African state.
The singer's victory at Malawi's Supreme Court of Appeal led the news on local radio stations and prompted a positive response on phone-in shows.
But James Kambewa, who is claiming paternity of the four-year-old girl, remains opposed to the adoption.
'I won't give up the fight,' he said, adding that the court disregarded him.
'I wrote to the court challenging the adoption because I am ready and willing to take care of my child,' said Mr Kambewa.
'How can they continue referring to her as an orphan when I told them I am there for her?'
However, Mr Kambewa was a lone voice of opposition, with most Malawians welcoming the court's decision to allow Madonna to adopt Chifundo 'Mercy' James.
'She is taking Mercy out of a life of destitution; she could have lived in the orphanage until she was old enough to start prostitution,' said Michael Jonas, a curio seller in Blantyre, Malawi's second-largest city.
'I am happy for her and the world should ignore the so-called father. We have lots of fathers but very few parents.'
'I am happy for Mercy,' said Martha Banda, a university student in Blantyre.
'Those who are against the adoption are just plain selfish. How can one say she is better off in an orphanage?'
Chifundo's uncle, Peter Baneti, said her family were 'very happy'.
'We, as a family, have been anxiously awaiting this ruling. We are very happy for Chifundo,' he said.
He added that Mr Kembewa could 'jump into Lake Malawi' for all he cared.
'We don't know this James boy. He was not there when my sister was pregnant; he didn't attend her funeral. How can he just come out to claim the baby? Does he want to steal my niece?'
Mercy's teenage mother died of child-birth complications a few days after giving birth.
Mr Kambewa admitted he had denied responsibility for his girlfriend's pregnancy. He met the 14-year-old Mwandida Mwaunde in secondary school, but deserted her when she fell pregnant in 2006.
'I was young then, but now I am old and responsible,' he said.
Yet even those in Malawi initially opposed to the adoption appear to have had a change of heart.
'We are happy today's ruling has clarified issues of inter-country adoptions,' said Maxwell Matewere, Executive director of Eye of the Child - a child rights organisation which previously expressed reservations about the adoption.
Frank Phiri, a resident in Bvumbwe - where the Mercy orphanage is situated - said Malawi has millions of orphans and one orphan less must be viewed as good news.
'I wish other rich people would come here to adopt orphans like Madonna has done,' he said.
'Governments should encourage people to adopt children because living in an orphanage is tough.'
According to the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development, there are close to 2 million orphans in Malawi, a quarter of whom have lost their parents as a direct result of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Madonna, one of the most successful stars in pop history, first met Mercy in October 2006 at Kondanani Children's Village, just outside Blantyre, the same year she began the process of adopting David Banda.
