The residents can only drive when it's appropriate for the storyline x

(I don't understand why he doesn't drive everyday. Better than the Tube)

This.
But then I imagine London traffic is horrendous.

Ah, that sounds good. From a story perspective obviously.

Under DTC it would probably be a disaster

Sean, hopefully, will be able to do it justice

Just like Lee's depression, it was a bit of a riot under Dom's era but Sean really has shown what he's capable of recently

Ross. 29-12-2016 11:46 PM

why are you chatting without me

Jane's car moved so little it was the reason Emma discovered she was involved in the Lucy murder lmao

If only Jane had gone to Asda twice a week she might be alright

Kim can drive now

And Babe used to have a Reliant Robin but I haven't seen it in a long time

Yeah, with DTC he focussed on him being a bit miserable and then getting the medication from the doctor. As Ashley said, I remember him pretending to take them and Linda getting worries again that he wouldn't take them but then nothing after that. There was no continuation or follow up at all.

But then DTC had a tendency to be a bit ADHD with his stories. He had some great ideas but got bored easily and moved onto the next one.

Like with the Lucy story, he couldn't develop it and keep it as good as the beginning of the story, once the reveal happened he couldn't focus on how it affected the Beale's etc he had to have constant twists, people finding out one by one, keeping it a secret, Max blamed etc before finally concluding it.

Ever noticed how this thread flourishes when you're not here? :smug:

Speaking of driving, who actually can drive? We never see teenagers taking driving lessons (except for Abi, I think? Only because she ended up murdering a dog) but they all seem to end up with cars, and I'm pretty sure Kim is the first soap character to have a driving lesson storyline.

Ross. 29-12-2016 11:50 PM

The mention of Emma has triggered me

NYD is a difficult day for me ever since we lost her

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Whitney can't. And Lauren ran her dad over and hasn't driven a car since.

There was a really great moment with Lee and Linda when he said "I don't think anyone would care if I wasn't here", or something along those lines. But then he got medication and Linda never mentioned it again.

The Lucy story had some really great moments. Live week was amazing and also the reveal week when Bobby almost bludgeoned Jane was great. The rest of it was really far fetched and I hated how everyone knew but no one would say anything as if Ian and Jane are Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

Ross. 29-12-2016 11:52 PM

Not Ian-Z and Jané

Ashley. 29-12-2016 11:52 PM

Thinking back to Emma's time on the show it seemed quite obvious that she was going to die. She had the typical "innocent death" attitude with her total lack of professionalism, lack of direction towards the end of her time on the show and of course finding out the truth before everyone else.

And that awful period of time where they focussed on Liam bloody Jackson. Like, wtf, why have him involved.

Mick, Linda, Billy, Babe, Lee, Max, Kim, Vincent, Ian (lost his licence), Jane, Phil, Sharon, Roxy, Ronnie, Sonia and Dot

I think Ben and Jay can too as I'm sure they drive cars in and out of the garage

Ross. 29-12-2016 11:54 PM

MESS when Liam found out

Cal. 29-12-2016 11:54 PM

Omg I forgot about Max's dog Tramp :(

HATED Abi during that era but she's alright now

It was so obvious but I was blinded by the Summer-haze
