OK a new updated Vaccine
for once a year.

OK Alf.

Covid: UK approves Moderna's Omicron booster

[The UK has become the first country to approve
a dual vaccine which tackles both the
original Covid virus and the newer Omicron variant.
The upgraded vaccine should be available as
an autumn booster and give better protection
against variants.

Moderna said it could supply doses in the
next few weeks, but exactly who will get them
has yet to be announced.

All over-50s and people in high-risk groups
will be offered some form of booster from next month.
The original vaccines used in the pandemic were
designed to train the body to fight the first form
of the virus that emerged in Wuhan, in China,
at the end of 2019.]

What’s the current trend of hospitalisations ?

The number was on the rise again about 4 weeks ago and I started seeing people wearing masks around work and when shopping but I haven’t heard it mentioned for weeks and all the mask wearers have disappeared

it was always going to be the over 50's that got a booster. The health requirements don't change because they have made the booster better

Yes
it is like what was being said last year,
he is saying all should get the booster
as it is for the 2 new strains
meaning less in any hospital.

China: Ikea shoppers flee store as authorities attempt lockdown | A six-year-old boy had tested positive after returning to Shanghai from Lhasa in Tibet, Shanghai Health Commission deputy director Zhao Dandan said on Sunday. Authorities realised the boy had been one of the customers in the Xuhui district store and rushed to close it down and lock the rest of the shoppers inside. Health officials are under pressure to enforce China's 'zero-Covid' policy that places residents into quarantine if an online app says they tested positive.

Yes China Lockdowns
are Crazy.

They demand Zero Covid

But at sea ports it keeps arriving back in the Nation
that it all started

It 100% went on too long and the media have to take the blame for absolutely petrifying people into not going to A and E and GPs must also shoulder the blame for not seeing people in person and this is still going on, as well as visitors to hospitals still now allowed, my friends sister has just been diagnosed with Ovarian cancer which had spread to her liver and bowel, and only one person could visit her in hospital at any one time.... crazy stuff

The number of people infected with coronavirus in the UK is continuing to fall, Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures show.

Its latest data estimates 1.7 million people - about one in 40 of us - would have tested positive two weeks ago.

That is down significantly from 3.5 million in early July and school holidays may be part of the reason.

The number of people dying with Covid or being admitted to hospital with the virus is also falling.

We know there were a lot of controversial points in the covid lifecycle so far. I think the initial lockdowns were valid because the population was scared, but they went on way too long, and some areas were in near constant lockdown for months and months

The models were generally way to pessimistic by orders of magnitude, too much confidence was placed in the vaccine. The authorities were way to quick to vilify people choosing not to be vaccinated. I would hope that they would learn lessons from it all, but we know they wont

Mystic Mock 13-09-2022 11:44 PM

The problem with the Vaccine for me is that it was rushed out, when normally Vaccines are supposed to go through a few years of testing first.

I understand why we have to take it, but I don't feel comfortable with the Vaccine.

Facebook groups are using the carrot emoji to hide anti-vax content from automated moderation tools.

The BBC has seen several groups, one with hundreds of thousands of members, in which the emoji appears in place of the word "vaccine".

Facebook's algorithms tend to focus on words rather than images.

The groups are being used to share unverified claims of people being either injured or killed by vaccines.

Once the BBC alerted Facebook's parent company, Meta, the groups were removed.

"We have removed this group for violating our harmful misinformation policies and will review any other similar content in line with this policy. We continue to work closely with public health experts and the UK government to further tackle Covid vaccine misinformation," the firm said in a statement.

However, the groups have since re-appeared in our searches.

One group we saw has been around for three years but rebranded itself to focus on vaccine stories, from being a group for sharing "banter, bets and funny videos" in August 2022.

The rules of the very large group state: "Use code words for everything". It adds: "Do not use the c word, v word or b word ever" (covid, vaccine, booster). It was created more than a year ago and has more than 250,000 members.

Marc Owen-Jones, a disinformation researcher, and associate professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar, was invited to join it.

"It was people giving accounts of relatives who had died shortly after having the Covid-19 vaccine", he said. "But instead of using the words "Covid-19" or "vaccine", they were using emojis of carrots.

"Initially I was a little confused. And then it clicked - that it was being used as a way of evading, or apparently evading, Facebook's fake news detection algorithms."

And idea what the current top five symptoms are of the current strain ?

They seem to vary quite a lot from strain to strain .
