Liverpool were awful today - scoreline should have been more than 2-1 tbh. They can thank Reina.

Jayson 16-08-2009 11:54 PM

Hey Johann :wavey:

It's a good thing that L'pool lost, gives us a better chance

King Gizzard 16-08-2009 11:54 PM

Just finished downloading Calvin Harris' new album! woot :bouncy:

keithafc 16-08-2009 11:56 PM

Still very early in the season but i was surprised with how poor Torres was. King just eat him up and spat him out. Although the lack of service until Yossi Benayoun came on was shocking.

King Gizzard 16-08-2009 11:59 PM

King is brilliant though, I wasnt surprised Torres had a quiet game!

King and Bassong looks like quite the partnership

Novo 16-08-2009 11:59 PM

Everton have burnley on the weekend thank god that should get us off the mark

Yea, now if only King could actually stay fit for two weeks. Hes a class defender but his injury problems have been horrendous,

King Gizzard 17-08-2009 12:05 AM

We were meant to have hammers away mid week but now weve got rapid vienna in austria..i am not looking forward to that

id rather be out of the europa..19 games for a cup no one cares about

I woudn't mind if we had a big squad but we don't and i can see us picking up more injuries

Johann 17-08-2009 12:11 AM

Some early contenders for goal of the season this weekend - there's been some absolute crackers.

My vote for goal of the weekend would be Denilson's; not because it was an Arsenal goal but the move leading up to it followed by a sublime finish.

King Gizzard 17-08-2009 12:12 AM

Mine has got to be ekottos, amazing

i didnt think Rodellegas could be topped

drogbas would of been if he didnt admit it was a cross

Johann 17-08-2009 12:13 AM

Chelsea, Liverpool and Utd have all looked rather suspect this weekend, whilst we blitzed our opponents. Very encouraging stuff.

Johann 17-08-2009 12:22 AM

Liverpool need another classy player to accompany Torres and Gerrard - someone who can take the games by the scruff of the neck when those two arent firing on all cylinders like today. I dont understand why Benayoun didnt start ahead of Babel, who was horrendous. Yossi did more in the 15mins he was on then Babel did the whole game.

That said, Totnam were very good and Palacios bossed that midfield. speaing of Palacios, time to check my fantasy team!

King Gizzard 17-08-2009 12:22 AM

I honestly think its between Chelsea and arsenal

Man U will feel the loss of ronaldo HEAVILY and liverpool, well I dont really need to explain do I?

keithafc 17-08-2009 12:24 AM

It was one game. There will be games which will be tight and very compact. Fabregas and Vermalene said it themselves. More positives performances are needed. It's not about how you start, it's about where you finish and to finish in a good and in a much more respectable place, you need to put in better consistent displays week in week out than last season. Arsenal had no chance of winning the league after 15 games last season. 5 loses out of 15. The 4-3-3 system suits a lot of our players as well.

King Gizzard 17-08-2009 12:25 AM

You've got yourselves a brilliant CB in vermalean

30stone 17-08-2009 12:27 AM

I think we have mixed squads for who we play, if its a bottom half team i think we can play the team you put then, but often we will play song for some strength in centre midfield.

Johann 17-08-2009 12:30 AM

Song was ****ing immense. I still think we need another CM though because once he buggers off to the ACN we'll be slightly short so some cover will be nice. I dont think Denilson plays that CDM pos well, hes a bit more advanced. Same with Diaby.

Its about consistancy with us...

We get a lot of games where we play stoke, and get about 20 shots on goal but just cant find the net and ent up with silly draws..

And i hope we dont get the injuries we had last season... at no point did we have less than 4 players injuried 2 first team...

Rosicky proved when he came back that he can make a massive difference its like spending 15 - 25m on a brand new player having him back same with eduardo..

Eduardo is a goal scorer looking at his record.. he does what hes supposed to and showed that at everton, 15 minutes and he got a goal.

Jayson 17-08-2009 12:34 AM

I think Bendtner needs to start shooting practice. He has about 10 shots per game and only ever gets 2 on target.

Novo 17-08-2009 12:34 AM

Am still going for United to win the premiership
