you have to have long serving characters - this makes a soap. the fact there is such a fast turn over of staff shows they are not up to the mark.

take thats fatzs guy - at first everyone loved here untill EE gave so much of him we went off him - he did not stand the test of time.

Fats is still in it. :suspect:

I know we need long servers but EE was in a rut where everything was revolving around Max, Phil, Kat, Alfie and people we were bored of. They needed a new family like the Carter's because all the others had grown stale and were all related.

i no he is still in it but you must be able to see the drop in focus in him.

He's never had a major part. He's always been a supporting character with no big storyline of his own.

Shirley goes in search of Shabnam's daughter

EastEnders' Shirley Carter is to embark on a search for her granddaughter after Shabnam Masood reveals the truth about her secret child.

Viewers of the BBC soap recently discovered that Shabnam fell pregnant after a one-night stand with Dean Wicks before she left Walford in 2008 and left the baby on a doorstep.

Although Shabnam's friend Stacey Branning is currently the only person to know the truth, Dean's mother Shirley will discover Shabnam's secret and become determined to track down the child, according to the Daily Star.

Shirley soon visits the house where she believes her granddaughter lives, before being thrown out by the child's foster father.

However, Shirley is not the only character tracking the girl down, as Shabnam's father Masood Ahmed is also seen outside the house with his friend Jane Beale.

EastEnders will air these scenes in May.
