The thing with Lucy is she is more of a songwriter than a singer. She is NOT a good singer, but she sounds good doing her own stuff obviously as it was written for her. She looked so embarassed singing someone elses song last night, and I dont think shel be any better tonight, unless she gets to do her own thing :S

Necessarily.

That is all :joker:

Lucy was amazing tonight & got the best crowd reaction & was forced to do an encore sooo, your wrong.
Shes the only artist through

OK probably not the best example as hes kinda flopped (sorry matt fans) but matt even managed britney spears week with no problems :hmph:

Another bad example (again, flopped) but I dont remember one week when Joe McElderry was bad.

So not all of them get screwed by themed weeks :idc:

I like Lucy a lot, I just really dont think txf is for her at all. They will stop her doing what she does best...which is her own stuff :(

Yes but they was still given songs that they could pull off, but they will use the themes as an excuse to give Lucy bad song choices imo.

MeMyselfAndI 23-09-2012 08:28 PM

Shes more suited to BGT I agree & she has no chance of winning.

Most other peoples songs would be bad choices for her.

The only things (besides her own music) I can see her pulling off are things like Kate Nash, Lily allen etc. I hope she proves me wrong though

Shaun 23-09-2012 08:31 PM

I can see her pulling off quite a lot of UK indiepop stuff... Ed Sheeran, Jamie T, Libertines, so on. But yeah, the moment it's big band week or whatever... eek

I think Lucy would be good at Coldplay aswell.

Also if she's good at Lily Allen and singers like that then I think she should sing them as The X Factor only ever favours what the Pop singers want to sing instead of anyone different.

I think Jahmene would be worse than Lucy on that week.:joker:

Lucy is great at what she does. She is not versatile enough for the XF though. What is she going to do during, say, ballad week...or rock week? She is a great song writer and artist but she is not going to get through to the final. Some people have their niche. That's one of the things I do not like about XF. Artists are expected to be all rounders, which not every one can be. It just doesn't work on all levels.

Mystic Mock 23-09-2012 08:48 PM

Tbf we don't know how versitile Lucy is when she was given Maroon 5 as her versitile song.

Vicky. 23-09-2012 08:48 PM

Good platform for her to become known though. Seems to be working so far. I hope she does well off the back of this, and I think she might :)

Black Dagger 23-09-2012 09:29 PM

Big Band week hasn't been on since 2009 when Jamie did U2 and got bollocked for it LMAO.

Vicky. 23-09-2012 09:42 PM

Has it not :suspect:

Im sure I remember moaning about it last year, and the year before too

Black Dagger 23-09-2012 09:44 PM

Nah it definitely wasn't in the past 2 series.

Vicky. 23-09-2012 09:46 PM

Hmm just did a quick search and it appears you are right...weird, Im sure I remember being pissed off about it :joker:

Ah well, good riddance :D

Black Dagger 23-09-2012 09:49 PM

I always liked it for some reason. Ha...

Rylan would smash it

Mystic Mock 23-09-2012 10:20 PM

Im glad it weren't in series 7 as I couldn't imagine Aiden doing Big Band any other way apart from being awful.

How 'versatlie' is ed sheeran? Or coldplay for that matter. Yet they are stars. Truth is that talented singers like ellie and lucy would be better outside the XF bubble, but need it for the hype it attracts. Thats the way of the 'pop' world now. Sad really.:nono:
