1.09M excluding +1 (6.8%)
Wow, that's pretty good right?
:clap1:
yeah, should get at least 1.2M with +1
This years series is currently averaging the same overnight average as powertrip was this far in. 100k up on timebomb (1.24m, 1.14m)
I imagine the officials will be quite high this year its doing well considering its up against so much competition with football and Love Island amongst other stuff. Even though its been a mess this year seems so raw and BB5'esque and the headlines its generating is the most a civilian series has had in years with the likes of The Sun actually having exclusive stories of housemates before they entered the house just like back in the day Andrew has made over 100k on newspaper interviews alone so theres major interest and its great to see BB back making headlines. Anyone got the +1 figure yet?

Also what I don't understand is why is Love Island seen as a huge success when it doesn't hit a million viewers yet BB gets well over a million and people complain its not doing well? BB really does have so much scrutiny from complaints for bad behavior when the likes of Geordie Shore and Love Island show actual sex and much more outrageous behavior imo without contestants getting warnings. BB fans are the shows worst enemy, I don't understand why they watch if they get so easily offended. Just sit back and enjoy and if you don't like what you see pick up the remote and watch David Attenborough or something. Its mad how it doesn't rate anywhere near what it used to but is allways the most complained about show every year.

i think the ratings will be better if Marco is evicted this Friday :)
And CBB3 got an average of 4.3 million viewers in 2005 - CBB15 got an average of 3.1 million viewers in 2015. Is a 1 million viewer drop in a decade even that much of a big deal? (I know CBB is higher rated than BB but still is a 3 million viewer drop from BB7 to BB17 even that much - less people are watching TV these days then those days?)
I'd say that the reason Love Island/Geordie Shore are both considered successes is because they're both on digital channels (ITV2/MTV) which have a much lower scope and lower budgets - they're both easily the highest rating shows on their respective channels (not to mention the fact that Geordie Shore is exported to a lot of other countries around the world and Love Island had a very large promotional campaign).
Big Brother could be considered less successful because Channel 5 is a PSB that has a much larger budget and scope than both of the former channels, and it has other shows that rate much higher than Big Brother (The X-Files was reaching up to 4 million viewers when it was on). |
I still have no idea how TV ratings are measured.
I think Love Island is as a success this year because last year it's ratings were 3-500k and this year they have literally doubled. And it's on ITV 2.
For Big Brother, a show that averaged 1.6, 1.6, 1.9 & 1.6m viewers over the past 4 years, dropping to 1.4m last year did seem like a fail. But that's why this year should be seen as a real success since it's s back up! |

What was the +1 figure for last night?
Big Brother: 0.91m excl +1 (4.3%)
Love Island: 0.73m excl +1 (3.4%) |
Was it against the footy last night?
Excl = excluding right?
I've literally just woken up. Yes :joker:
