Gifty will be a 'shock' week 2 boot, losing out to Ottavio & Bradley which will cause SO much fumes

Headie 02-10-2016 10:35 AM

Even though Gifty's gonna be hated, it's Vote to Save so she has a lot of fans still, she wouldn't be 4th fave to win otherwise.

If anything Relley C will be the Week 1/2 black girl boot that goes against a joke act in the bottom 2 (if she makes it through to the live shows)

I see her as more of a Lauren Murray type who gets far despite being loathed by a lot of people.

Samm 02-10-2016 10:58 AM

Gifty will defiantly get near to the end, it's going to be Saara and Relley who will be the early female boots ;(

What a stupid statement to make. Regardless of whether you like Lauren or not you can't pretend she's talent less - it just makes you look stupid!http://i.imgur.com/qT5pzcI.gif

Wow i just watched back 4 Of Diamond's and Skarl3t's performances and they were so robbed!!

Babayaro. 02-10-2016 11:18 AM

5 AM are easily the best group but I have a feeling that the public wont warm to them that well like The Risk and they'll get booted out week 4/5 :(

Cal. 02-10-2016 11:20 AM

Is it 10 weeks again this year?

Cal. 02-10-2016 11:21 AM

If it is then won't there have to be at least one wildcard?

Babayaro. 02-10-2016 11:25 AM

Im pretty sure it is 10 weeks, yeah. If they stick with 12 acts then that just means there will be no double eliminations

Cal. 02-10-2016 11:27 AM

Oh good I DESPISE them :clap1:

Cal. 02-10-2016 11:29 AM

The weekend we lost Lola Saunders & Jack Walton :bored:

And when Kiera Weathers, Seann Miley Moore, Monica Michael & Mason Noise were all robbed by them last series :bored:

Well I think the fact that the show has run its course plays a large part in why people are bored of it now (as much as the kind of decisions that are made tbh), I don't remember Leona's series overly well but obviously only being the third series people were hooked on it and it was seen as better than it really was most likely more than if it were to air now, but the point I'm wanting to make here is that what is the real problem is how it's declined. It was inevitable after 13 years anyway but the quality of the show is terrible, it has become painfully obvious how set up and fake it all is and that's where the problem lies.

The Voice's main problem is the coaches imo and the format isn't the best either. Plus people are literally just burnt out on singing shows now. I enjoy entertainment, but I don't enjoy seeing the same thing happen year after year where genuinely talented people are eliminated at the expense of viewing value.

If up-tempo songs are slowed down though then people just moan about them dodging the theme and not being able to do anything different. :worry:

Yeah I agree that given how long the show has been on air it was always going to decline in popularity at some point, though I am confident had they not ****ed up the panel in 2011 and stuck to the winning formula of the previous two years that they'd have been able to milk the extraordinary ratings for a couple more series, and that may have in turn lessened the damage when it came to the figures these days. The thing is though is that what you're describing goes back like seven years, the manipulation and fakeness was just as prevalent in the glory years of 09 and 10 as it is now and yet it was still a roaring success? I do agree with the people who say the joke acts aren't as funny as they used to be (and I'm not sure how that can be rectified), but thoroughly disagree that joke acts shouldn't be a part of the show at all. They're actually quite essential as far as I'm concerned. And to be fair, you were/are a fan of Jedward and Rylan so it does seem a bit odd for you to be complaining about this

Well The Voice's new panel is piss poor that's for sure, but I think it goes beyond 'names' and more about their interaction with each other. Like I said in another thread, it's a massive love-in, everyone's ~amazing~, and that's just dull  give me Sharon throwing water over Louis, Gary saying Tulisa has fag ash breath, Cheryl and Louis bickering etc etc any day. And yeah, the format is also a mess. The only thing I'd say to your last sentence is that really, 'genuinely talented people' aren't partaking in shows like X Factor  or conversely, even if they are eliminated early if they're that good they'll be picked up anyway

That is true but so long as everyone doesn't change the arrangement of the songs I've never had much of an issue

LukeB 02-10-2016 02:40 PM

Gifty and Emily deserved their spot in the live shows and I'm glad Simon didn't take through both Samantha and Caitlyn because they are similar I would have preferred Caitlyn but I like how all 3 acts are different to each other I like a diverse category. So Simon did a great job with his choices.

Louis is just a mess at choosing, he said girl bands don't do well on x factor but he never gave them a chance to, they could have done, the underdogs can get support and get a bigger fan base, it happened to Little Mix and Fleur East. He should at least picked 1 boy band,1 girl band and 1 duo.

Denver 02-10-2016 03:19 PM

didnt Simon say he will take 5 girls and the others 3 acts each? that must hint at a wild card twist? one public and one judges?

Calderyon 02-10-2016 03:59 PM

Wow. How dumb is Louis?

Axing both talented girl acts/groups and taking a mediocre boy duo/act (or two) and a clear novelty act instead in the live shows.

Madness. No win for Louis.

I think he meant he wanted to put 5 through, but it would be good if there was a Wildcard.

Jack_ 02-10-2016 04:12 PM

I think they should do what BGT does re. wildcards, let the public pick one (say in a week long phone vote of the rejected 16) and then the judges pick another

Like 2012? we choose out of 4 people and the result was awful.

Jack_ 02-10-2016 04:15 PM

Yeah but I don't wanna choose out of four because then the judges get to pick who the options are, that's my point

caprimint 02-10-2016 04:32 PM

Voting should just commence from judges' houses onwards.
