Maybe your boat will crash and you'll end up shipwrecked on an island with gorgeous people?

Not yet, I need to call the agent later today

I’ve spent most of the morning trying to work out how to sort out all the bloody import documentation for my car :fist:

Have to tell HMRC, potentially pay any VAT due :fist:, then get a certificate to say it’s legal in the UK THEN an MOT and THEN finally register it

Cherie 17-08-2020 11:02 AM

If your parents are happy to keep you for a while, maybe don't rush into anything, think about you options especially if you have a lot of savings and could potentially buy a place once you have a job, but then maybe you need to move to Manchester to get a job, I don't know just thinking out loud

Smithy 17-08-2020 11:14 AM

Yeah I’ve just called up about one flat and they said are you in full time employment and I said no but I’ve spoken to other letting agents and they were happy to provide a six month lease paid upfront prior to a review and they said they wouldn’t do that :fist:

Not wishing to sound like your Ma, but just be careful with the all rent up front thing, you have no comeback if anything goes wrong with the flat, for instance if the boiler breaks down and you have no hot water/heating the landlord has his/her cash so can take their sweet time getting a plumber round as you cant withhold rent until its fixed
