England had the easiest run to the final Italy were the strongest team and we failed, the fact the world so called best striker can't get past 2 men put on day release from a care home is a joke

Croatia are still the World Cup Runner-up (beating us if I remember correctly) so they're not exactly "levels" below us.

And Denmark are in the top 10 in the FIFA rankings aren't they?

Germany you have a point tbf.

And Kane scored in the penalty shootout, plus if Southgate had've done such a bad tactical job against Italy then it wouldn't have gone to penalties imo.

The only mistake I think that Southgate made was his choices on who he had take the penalties (even Maguire was a gamble) but to me anyone expecting England to play like Real Madrid against Italy were getting too carried away imo.

The game was full of mistakes, we didn't have a shot inside the box so we should have brought another forward on, we lacked creativity so why wait till very very late to bring on Grealish when he should have been on arounf the 60 mins Mark

The very, very, very large majority of humans care about not starving children, Rashford isn't unique just because he's presented with a platform to inform us all how much he cares.

Plumber messes up his job.

Well, I care about starving children, so that exempts me from criticism of my job.

Argh what ashame, but I could see this coming once it went to painful penalities .

MTVN 11-07-2021 11:08 PM

Well I feel that same combination of pride and emptiness that I felt in 2018

Tonight's not the time for navel gazing or asking where we went wrong, in the end it came down to a coin flip. Feel so much love for this team and their humbleness, their effort and their collective ambition

Hell of a ride this summer has been, every match has been a great time and I've loved talking about it all with you guys on here - the football section has been carrying this forum the last 4 weeks :flutter:

Can't begrudge Italy at all as they've been brilliant all tournament, congrats Ness

Maybe he was scared that England would lose in normal time if Grealish was brought on earlier?

Also Italy weren't gonna just let us start attacking in their half, maybe they were better as a team than us? Italy's not the kinda team where Southgate/England can just click their fingers and start dominating Italy, whether Grealish was on or not.

Btw Grealish didn't do anything when he came on anyway, it feels like the Media's spreading this Myth that Grealish was gonna be our lord and saviour, but what did he honestly do this tournament?

Cherie 11-07-2021 11:10 PM

Congratulations Ness

The tension :omgno:

MTVN 11-07-2021 11:10 PM

Been reminding everyone tonight that this is just the Euros - it's not the World Cup which is truly the greatest tournament on earth

Already can't wait for next winter

How proud of Rice were you tonight? He was immense, ran himself into the ground.

He's put such a shift in all tournament! Rice is the first West Ham player I've seen play for England and for him to play every game and be so pivotal in a side that reached the final is massive

You just know you're gonna lose him to a big club, don't ya?

MTVN 11-07-2021 11:17 PM

Actually I think Rob Green also played for England while he was West Ham but mainly remembered for his howler in the World Cup now sadly

A few pieces of paper with the image of Her Majesty on it, always wins in the end.

Denver 11-07-2021 11:21 PM

Can we all agree Harry Kane is so overrated? Just as he does for club he fails to turn up against the big boys if I was City thinking of paying £150m id be worried about that

I agree.

I know that some people will think that I'm being biased because I'm a Blues fan, but I honestly think that he didn't do much all tournament.

I get Villa fans hyping him up, but I'm genuinely curious what other clubs fans are seeing in him.
