Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry (also known as McFly) were in Spain on the 1st and 2nd of December to promote their new edition of Radio:Active and play a gig for Sessions Myspace. Obviously Top Music&Cine got to meet them...

Hello boys! It's not the first time you're in Spain, what do you think of our country?
Danny: We love it, wonderful place!
Tom: The food is great and the fans are lovely and very passioned. Yesterday when we got to the airport they were waiting for us and were very nice.
Dougie: It's very weird coming to Spain when it's cold, people only come here on vacation for the heat! (laughs)

Your music is reaching out to everyone in various places, what's the secret of your success?
Tom: I have no idea... It's a combination of various things. We do our job the best way we can and we're all best mates. That makes everything easier. And, of course, we have incredible fans.

And they're from all around the world...
Tom: Yes, we only found that out this year, because we travelled a lot more. We knew we had fans in Europe, South America and Australia thanks to the internet, but now we can see it for ourselves.
Do you try to give your fans as much attention as you can?
Dougie: We try to interact with them as much as possible, for example in concerts.

And through the internet?
Tom: Yeah, we use Twitter and Myspace so we can be "connected" to the fans.
Playing live is one of the things musicians most appreciate. What's the best part of being on stage for you?
Danny: One of the best moments is when the crowd sings along with me.
Dougie: Yeah, when they sing and jump!

Can you remember any funny situation that has happened on stage?
Tom: Many of them! Once, Harry fell in the middle of the stage.

If you weren't on a band, what would like to be doing?
Danny: Football.
Dougie: I'd like to be a woman.
Tom: And I'd like to be your husband (laughs)
Harry: Honestly, I don't know...
Danny: Harry would be a knight.

McFly... and the girls!
We already know they are very popular amongst their fans, but are they that good with women? We were told told Harry is the most successful, but he assured us that's only because he doesn't have a girlfriend. It's proved that in a perfect interview with them there has to be "chatting, fun and laughs". And these boys are super down to earth and have lots of fun with normal things like sports and going out. We're sure a lot of girls wouldn't mind joining them, right?

Hello Tom! Congratulations on the new album! What can you tell us about it?
Hey! Thank you, you are going to love the special edition of Radio:Active! There's a DVD with one of our concerts and backstage footage.

This is the second time you're in Spain. What do you think about Spanish fans?
They're really amazing! When we landed in Spain there were lots of fans waiting for us. They welcomed us big! They're very passionate. Incredible!

How would you describe your concerts?
Going on stage is the best thing in the world. It makes you feel alive. Plus seeing the crowd completely into the music... it's a wonderful feeling.

How are the McFly boys off stage?
We're just ourselves. Always fooling around.

Describe your friends in one word.
Danny is funny. Dougie is unique and Harry is the leader! ha ha ha. Truth is, they're the best.

What are your future plans?
Record a new album in 2010!

Hello boys, you just got back from the Canaria Islands, how did things go around there?
Great, it was really hot! We went out for drinks just in the first day.

Did you like the spanish parties?
A lot! You stay up so late...

What time did you go to sleep?
Around 5a.m. In England we stay up 'til 3a.m. max!

You must be very tired...
A little, that's why we want to go to bed early today.

Dougie's birthday was a few days ago, what present did you give him?
Lots of love and good advice.

Advice? Something going on?
Well, let's say he needs to keep his feet on the ground... hahaha.

You've been in our country a couple of times now, what Spanish words do you know?
Hola chicas, guapas, buenas noches!

Very good! It's been proved when you're on stage, anything can happen...
We're not shy at all when we're in front of the crowd. They make our embarrassment go away.

And before the gig, how do you get ready?
We do a little exercise, stretching... Those kind of things to relax a bit.

Do you get nervous?
We don't feel nervous, but we get very excited.

We're addicted to your YouTube videos! How do you get ideas for that?
Sometimes we lose our minds. During tours we fool around a lot and stuff like that just happens.

Who's the funniest?
Harry!!

If you could have your own movie, how would it be?
It'd have to be a lot of action and a bit of romance.

You've done a lot of covers... Any new one in mind?
We really like What'cha by Jason Derulo.

What song would you never be able to cover?
"Passarinhos a Bailar"! hahah [don't know how the name of that song in english, sorry.]

How's a day in McFly's life?
We wake up around 10a.m. and take our dogs for a walk. In our free time we like to play football and golf, and we also like to go online or play the guitar. We've just decorated our houses for Christmas, made the christmas tree...

Before we finish, in 2010...
We want to have a good year, have lots of fun, be very healthy and look like Robert Pattinson, hahah.


Between other questions...

- We couldn't stop laughing! When they told us the youngest had to keep his feet on the ground, Dougie took of and showed us his shoes making no ceremonies! Yes, yes he did get bare foot and put his feet on top of the table. No, he didn't smell bad!
- Plus they're dancing kings! They know how to move their bodies and gave us a little demonstration. During the interview they danced "Passarinhos a Bailar" and also Macarena. They're brilliant.
-They have various Tattoos so we asked them how many they were on total. To be honest,all we wanted was to see them, hahaha. The boys didn't think twice and showed them to us! We get shiny eyes just by remembering that moment...

Danny Jones tells us about opera singing and McFly's VERY exciting new album

While Rochelle, Frankie, Una and Mollie were busy taking over our Twitter and doing strange (but hilarious) things to heatgeek, heatworld was also off hanging out with Danny from McFly at the launch for Popstar To Operastar. Danny is very excited about putting on his posh voice and singing in Italian, and said he's VERY chuffed with all the support he's getting from his heatworld fans. "The support is brilliant," he said, "And the boys will be there for me, too. I've said I want them in my dressing room with me on Friday." Danny explained that when he first got offered the chance to be on the show he said no. But Tom, Dougie and Harry convinced him to "take one for the team" and he's going for it! We're mightly glad they're so persuasive. Just imagine staring at Danny¹s handsome face every Friday night for six weeks! Woop! The Saturdays¹ Vanessa White is also having a go at the old opera singing, and told us she's dead nervous about being without the other Saturdays. "People keep asking me whether we might get The Saturdays to sing opera," she giggled. "Imagine if the girls learnt some for the next album?" Now that we¹d love to see! Or hear. Danny also went on to tell us the McFly boys will be releasing their new album in the second half of 2010, and at the moment they're still writing new songs. "It's going to be brilliant," he grinned. We can¹t wait!

Been recording vocals on a song called Hotel on a Hill. Nice little piano song that we've wanted to record for years

and a few years back Carrie (Toms sister) put on the McFly boards her favourite song was Hotel on a Hill..... and now, they're recording it! YAHOOOOOOO!

2 other songs that have been rumored are called 'Foolish' and 'Mona Lisa', because of twitter convos with Dallas Austin!

Here's some other stuff that Tom's said about album tracks:
1. One of the songs begins with the word/abbreviation 'I've'. Which is an awful lot to go on.
2. One of the songs is apparently the greatest love song ever. Tom said it was at least until he started singing on it ha ha
3. One of the songs is like Star Girl, in that it's about female aliens but it's a lot more subtle than Star Girl.
4. And there's also the 'feel-good' song of summer.
5. Another song according to Tom - '...It's about doing bad things and leading people down the weird, dark, scary path...'
