What's Cher spouting nonsense about now?

Smithy 14-08-2013 03:00 PM

her song leaking (but i dont the big deal cause she said it wasnt gonna be on the album anyway :suspect)

10,500 copies of applause were sold in 7 hours yesterday :D

Z 14-08-2013 03:06 PM

Why is she mentioning Lady GaGa though?

Smithy 14-08-2013 03:08 PM

cause gaga wrote it and duetted on the song with her, suppose she's just mentioning applause cause she likes it

Z 14-08-2013 03:09 PM

Oh I see. Why is GaGa associating with Cher :suspect:

Tom4784 14-08-2013 03:49 PM

I'm kinda bored of Applause already, she should just go back to the BTW era and release Scheisse.

Lady Gaga has sparked controversy with a new Twitter competition which urged her followers to buy multiple copies of her new single.

Gaga, who unveiled her track 'Applause' earlier this week, offered her fans the chance to fly to her appearance at the iTunes Festival in London to meet her.

However, the suggestion that followers who buy multiple copies of her single 'Applause' and prove it will be entered into the contest caused controversy among some, with The Examiner claiming that some fans had spent over $300 (£194) on the track.

Meanwhile, Billboard has reportedly confirmed that the multiple purchases will count toward the track's chart placing, causing some people to complain that Gaga is artificially inflating the success of the single

Unfortunately, for Lady Gaga, things aren't looking so bright. Her single "Burqa" has receive almost universal bad press. Some have even gone as far to say that the song promotes raping Muslim women. Others have noted that the song sounds like a desperate attempt to latch onto the EDM phase.

Today, several music critics got an early preview of Katy Perry's upcoming album "Prism" and most say it is a Grammy magnet masterpiece. The best review calls it the best pop album in years that is on par with Madonna's "Ray of Light" and Alanis Morisette's "Jagged Little Pill." The album is expected to easily outsell Lady Gaga's ARTPOP, which has garnered nothing but bad press.
(the album isn't even finished)

You can expect "Applause" to be played on the radio several times during the first week. Then, after listeners give negative feedback, the song will drop faster than sales of Lady Gaga's last album "Born This Way."
like sis are you fo real

anyway the whole competition thing is a bit of a mess but  other artists have done it, JB did it with Girlfriend and Rihanna when her S&M remix came out

Applause climbs to Number 5 on today’s Official Singles Chart sales flash after less than two days on sale, but still trails Ellie Goulding's Burn.

According to the latest Official Charts Company sales data, up to midnight last night, Applause has now sold 21,500 copies since going on sale on Tuesday at 5pm. However, Applause is still 55,000 copies behind midweek leader, Burn by Ellie Goulding, which sold 13,600 in the past 24 hours and looks set to become her first ever Number 1 single this weekend.
Yay :D

Hopefully once the video drops on monday and it starts getting regular airplay next week, it'll climb

Smithy 16-08-2013 11:02 AM

Bad Romance has passed 1,000,000 sales copies in the UK :cheer:

MA I want to know a little about this piece for the new album that you played…“Pig”? I love this work. Do you have a favorite song? Also tell me a little bit about the pig one.

LG Actually it’s interesting that you said that you love “Swine.”

MA “Swine” sounds so much worse in English. Pig is almost sweet, but swine is really dirty.

LG Yes, swine is dirty. And in European culture, it’s not very nice to call somebody swine. It’s like the worst thing you can say. So when we were making the cover that you mention, with the dark hair…Each cover was designed with a custom outfit by one designer. That’s the one that Hedi [Slimane] did—the one in the sequined jacket with the high-waisted jeans and the hair. That was the time in my life when I was the new artist. I wasn’t a fully formed artist, I was 19, I was young. I was on my way. I was willing to do anything for art. It got me into so much trouble because when you’re willing to do anything for art but you don’t even know what your art is yet or what your music is or what you’re making, you’re willing to do anything to understand it or to experience something that will charge it or inspire it. And because of that I was really troubled. I was really sick all the time in my head, in my heart. I felt trapped, but I was free. And then it was like a slow death. A slow death of my innocence and my youth. And I had to climb through a lot of swine, and that’s where that song came from. This idea of something so dark and something so awful and perverted that at a young age you don’t really understand. And you don’t want to know and understand it. And then, as I’m older, I understand the intenseness of the experiences that I went through. They have affected and changed who I am now. So this song became a liberation, because I’m now saying that if I am to be truly great at this transformation, I have to understand. It shows on stage before people’s eyes. And that’s really what these covers are about. It’s not just the hair, it’s the whole life.

MA Each one is different.

LG It’s a whole life-form.
swine tho :joker:
