Tottenham keen on City star


While Manchester City appear to be the big movers in this summer’s transfer window, Tottenham have turned their attentions to the cash rich club’s captain and prior to this term, their player of the season on the last two occasions and four in total Richard Dunne.

The Republic of Ireland stalwart has endured a poor season by his lofty standards, and although the 29 year old is eager to remain in Manchester, Tottenham are set to test Mark Hughes’ desire to keep him at the club with a £5 million move.

Ledley King’s chronic injury woes continue to concern Harry Redknapp, and the former West ham and Portsmouth coach is keen to add an experienced defender to his squad.

Should City accept the bid, Dunne is likely to move to Tottenham in the next coming weeks after nearly 300 games at the club.

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has urged the club's supporters not to get too carried away by transfer rumour speculation.
Bolton's Danny Shittu and Red Star Belgrade midfielder Nenad Milijas are among the names linked with a summer move to Molineux but Moxey has moved to dampen any transfer speculation.

"We're being linked with all and sundry and once again I would remind supporters - until they hear something from us - not to believe comments and speculation," Moxley told the Birmingham Post.

"What is happening, however, is a huge amount of work behind the scenes."
