everyone is special for different reasons

Mystic Mock 21-02-2015 04:46 AM

The Beatles are really bland to me.

But tbf aren't most boybands bland?

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 21-02-2015 04:51 AM

Jedward are iconic... But not because they have any sort of musical ability

That's a duo though, and they're a joke act from a show that hates talent.:joker:

A boyband to me tends to at least have 4 members, I have seen them go down to 3 before though like the new Take That song proves.

A boy band is made up of approx. 4 boys who sing and dance

Rarely do they play any musical instruments or write their own material

The Beatles were nothing like a boy band.

Mystic Mock 21-02-2015 05:01 AM

Their songs was cheesy enough to be made for a boyband.

Mokka 21-02-2015 05:09 AM

I hope it's really late where you are...
or that your too drunk to see straight,,,
or your pulling my leg...
Or your just being the Mockinator for the fun of it

Mystic Mock 21-02-2015 05:16 AM

I'm being very serious, a lot of their Music could be given out to boybands like 1D, Take That, hell even the crooners that was Westlife.

Not really no. Most of those bands wouldn't have known how to play the songs and sing they are so one dimensional

And sure not every one of there songs was a hit... or held the most depth... and songs like "I wanna hold your hand" shot them to the top of the charts when it was a fairly basic tune by today's standards...

But those songs in the era they existed changed music history. And they used those songs that the labels would love, that had the catch handle, that may seem mundane by today's standards, to build a platform for a wealth of music and creativity that set the stage for rock and pop alike.

They may not be your ideal musical talents for today... but I hate when musical artists that scoped the landscape of music 50 years ago get disparaged by comparison to modern day music. It's called context and its called history. You can't deny they did something that most of today's artist could only dream of

Mystic Mock 21-02-2015 05:34 AM

Yes The Beatles started boybands off, thank you guys.

They showed more talent that your average boyband but they was still a boyband, as you even said their songs was quite basic (which is why I don't like most of the 60's Music) and it certainly was not what I would call Rock.

Mokka 21-02-2015 05:42 AM

ahhh... the played past the sixties you know... and I said some of their songs were basic, just like not every song on an album is a number one or a classic

How much of their music have you actually heard? not enough I'd wager

Shaun 21-02-2015 05:46 AM

i actually can't @ someone using pictures of iggy azalea and ed sheeran to identify their tastes, coming for the beatles lmao

Right?

I mean get some perspective people

Mystic Mock 21-02-2015 05:48 AM

I've heard Hey Jude, Let It Be, Come Together, Ticket To Ride, Twist And Shout, and Yesterday.

They're all suppose to be “classics” apparently.

I actually liked John Lennon's solo stuff though, it was more interesting.

In terms of credibility Ed Sheeran and Iggy Azalea would be seen as more credible than The Beatles (I didn't say better however) but Indie/Folk, and a Rapper is much better to me than a Pop boyband that made some of the most cheesy Music of all time that wasn't a joke act like Steps or S Club.

Being rude doesn't block out my point that I've heard all their supposedly best songs and I didn't like them.

I probably have heard more songs from them as well as my Mom did play one of their Albums the once, but as I'm not a stan, or a Gran, I can't remember the name of all the songs.

But a nice try by you and Shaun to dismiss my opinion.

I'm on about the giants that made them still get airplayed today, not songs that got to number 1 just because it's The Beatles.
