Why The Telegraph revealed Matt Hancock's WhatsApp messages
Matt Hancock rejected the Chief Medical Officer’s advice to test for Covid all
residents going into English care homes, leaked messages seen by The Telegraph reveal. Prof Sir Chris Whitty told the then health secretary early in April 2020, about a month into the pandemic, that there should be testing for “all going into care homes”. But Mr Hancock did not follow that guidance, telling his advisers that it “muddies the waters”. Instead, he introduced guidance that made testing mandatory for those entering care homes from hospital, but not for those coming from the community. Prior to the guidance, care homes had been told that negative tests were not required even for hospital patients. The guidance stating that those coming in from the community should be tested was eventually introduced on Aug 14. Between April 17 and August 13, 2020, a total of 17,678 people died of Covid in care homes in England. DT |

Somebody brings a child a Covid test, isn't that a good thing? I also had a Covid test couriered to me. Is that news worthy? |

SIR – I was unable to read your reports on Covid rules for care homes and
hospitals, as I found them too distressing. I knew at the time how inhumane these rules were. I was only allowed to see my husband of 47 years twice during a four-week stay in hospital, and then once during a nine-day stay in a care home, before he passed away. I was invited to see him through a glass window in the care home, which I found insulting. I refused. No consideration had been given to what a man who was confused, and sometimes needed reminding who I was, might make of a woman on the other side of the window smiling and waving at him. The fact that many others had similar experiences does not make it easier. Joyce Bellingham Hassocks, West Sussex SIR – I would like an apology from this Government. For labelling me a “conspiracy theorist”, even though it now seems likely that Covid escaped from a Chinese lab. For calling me a potential “granny killer”, when in truth that title belongs elsewhere. For suggesting I was a “Covidiot”, while ministers were locked in groupthink and focused on spin and headlines. Above all, I’d like an apology from the Government for using the mechanisms of the state to attempt to terrify me into submission. An apology won’t bring back my businesses, or restore my child’s prospects, but it would make a repeat of this disaster less likely. In my view and personally from me too I think Hancock an odious creep.
His deceit, lies and being totally false sickening. His judgement has clearly been more disastrous than anything else. However, how he must regret trusting a rotten snake like Isobel Oakeshott. Why that horrible person gets any media attention at all has always been beyond me. You cannot trust her or her word on near anything. To have her helping him with his book was utter madness. However he's betrayed the Nation while health secretary and he has his own family too. So now he is getting a taste of what betrayal feels like. Part of me feels sad for him that he felt he could trust Oakeshott. On TV this morning Quentin Letts described her as a piranha in the bath. If she was in the water with you, GET OUT QUICK. Damn right he is as to that too. |

They say Hancock could be bankrupted if senior civil servants sue him for breach of confidentiality

oh my, MASKS DONT WORK
|
many of us on here at the time pointed out that they were making mask wearing compulsory when there was zero evidence that they worked. It was pretty obvious when they said make your own that it was a scam
