Fabregas - I feel responsible for this Club

Cesc Fabregas was named Arsenal's new captain towards the end of 2008, becoming the second-youngest skipper in the Club's history.

Although the 22-year-old missed almot four months of the season through injury, he took to his new role like a duck to water.

Earlier in the season we caught up with Cesc about his new responsibilty. He discussed:

* being helped by his team-mates
* the mutual respect
* feeling responsible for the Club
* helping new players settle in
* captaining players 10 years older than him
* leaving fining duties to Manuel Almunia
* organising team days out

I think hes a great manager, and he wants to lift silverware with Arsenal, i hope he gets that this season coming

Fabregas is awesome, seriously a top footballer.

Blades are the better team, have been for the past ten years.
I wanted them to beat Burnley but the best team won, fantastic for Burnley though.
Yeh I thought they was pretty crap during the game with Burnley.

Yes i know..

Theres

Lampard
Gerrard
Ronaldo
Fabregas

Who are now considered the 4 big midfielders of the premiership.

I think he still has a bit to learn, but he has time being the youngest but at least 4 - 5 years.

His short passing vision and positioning is quality though.

Rosicky Back this season!

Wll be amazing hes underated, because hes absolutely amazing.

30stone 05-06-2009 02:37 AM

Arsenanl squad this season

Gk : Almunia, Fabianski , Mannone

Defence : Sagna, toure, thomas(new player), Clichy Gibbs, another new player..

Midfield : Walcott, Fabregas nasri, rosicky, denilson, diaby, new player,Fran Merida, Jack Wilshire, a ramsey, alex song

Forwards : Van Persie, Adebayor, Eduardo, Arshavin, Vela, Bendtnar, possible new player.

Team most fielded is in bold to what i think.
Arshavin will play as an out and out striker this season i think.

Wll be great out midfield is so attacking.

Novo 05-06-2009 02:40 AM

Everton can buy Eduardo for 10 MIL then?

30stone 05-06-2009 02:41 AM

Yes, actually, if he doesn't get injured hes actually an amazing player.

im not sure how much first team foootball he will get this season which is dissapointing, there so many good strikers there.

He would probably do well at everton, would be top striker by far aswell.

30stone 05-06-2009 02:43 AM

Everone will wait, Merida will play a lot of fa cup and carling cup football this season.

and he will shine.

Fran Merida is the next Cesc Fabregas. But more attacking.

Quinn: Bruce brings cat true grit

Quote:

Niall Quinn believes Steve Bruce will bring Sunderland ingredient they have been missing.

With businessman Ellis Short completing his takeover of the club a week ago, attention turned to appointing a successor to Ricky Sbragia, who resigned after the final game of last season having guided the Black Cats to Barclays Premier League safety.

And the short search for a new boss ended with Quinn landing the club's number one target, attracting Bruce from Wigan on a three-year contract.

Now the chairman expects the former Manchester United captain to stamp his authority on Sunderland.

Quinn said: "We have a lot of fine things at this football club and if we can get that steel into our dressing room that Steve Bruce brings there could be big rewards.

"Steve has proved himself to be very astute in the transfer market, he knows the demands and expectations of football people in the North East. The fit is perfect for us.

"The structure of the club is good, the ownership has been dealt with positively, we stayed in the Premier League and the supporter base is phenomenal.

"We did not excite our fans very often last season but we had more than 40,000 at most games and I think this is the perfect time for us and Steve to come together.

"I am really looking forward to what Steve brings to the club.

"I have seen virtually every game played by this club for the last three years.

"We have some fine players but there have been times - and the players have admitted this themselves - when we have been brittle.

"We have taken some giant strides in those three years but also some backward steps at times.

"I believe the missing ingredient is that steel - that mentality.

"Steve will forgive a player a bad pass or a missed chance if that player is working hard, but what he won't accept is anyone who shirks his responsibilities.

"With Steve I believe we will have a proper football club with players who always give everything."

With a new manager on board, the thoughts of supporters will naturally turn to how the club will strengthen for next season.

Quinn said: "There have been some far-fetched newspaper reports plucking figures out of the air for what we will be spending, but what we will say to the fans is that if we are intelligent and slick in the transfer market there will be backing for Steve.

"We are in a place the club has never been before."
