Taking out his phone, Omar agreed to go downstairs and find the electricity supply since they were the only staff working at this hour in this department (yes they have a separate murder investigation building okay just deal with it). As he was about to descend the first flight of stairs, however, Harriet and Harry ran after him, deciding to make a game of it.
They reached the ground floor surprisingly quickly and were greeted by the receptionist, Aaron, who told them he had no idea how to work the power grid. "Where's uh..." Omar stuttered. "Iris!" Harriet elbowed him. "She went down there, had to file something I think?" he shrugged, just as a smoke alarm upstairs went off. "Oh, this isn't good," he hushed, running around the front desk to check if anything on the security monitors could tell him where the noise was coming from exactly, without electrical power. It didn't. "You two stay down here," Harry pointed at Omar and Harriet, as he and Aaron ran upstairs grabbing fire extinguishers. |

On the opposite side of the building, Georgia was trying to ascend the other stairwell with some difficulty. She'd left her phone - and other belongings - upstairs, and wasn't really willing for them to burn up. She assumed the fire - if there was one - would be from one of the top floors rather than theirs, the 4th, and was willing to risk it. Around the second floor she could tell there was a bit of smoke wafting down, but wasn't too alarmed just yet, and she reached the fourth floor with a little inside celebration.
Meanwhile, Harry and Aaron Fowley had just reached the sixth floor when they became first aware of flames. Armed with a fire extinguisher each, and with two more on this floor, they bravely took on the fires and extinguished a fair portion of them when Harry went off to the side of the building Georgia was on to find the replacement. Aaron, a little more cautious with his extinguishing, ran out of foam about 3 minutes later and went back to the staircase up which he'd come. He looked around for the fire extinguisher but couldn't find it - and when he went down a level, he couldn't find one there either. He turned to run upstairs and warn Harry, when he was shot in the back three times. |

Georgia burst through the kitchen door to find Destiny and Faye sat rather calmly in the waiting area. Destiny was applying a damp dishcloth to Faye's burns and comforting her, reassuring it would be okay.
"Where're the others?" Georgia interrupted. "Omar went downstairs with Harry and Harriet to fix the electricity supply," Faye winced, "but what's that noise?" Their floor was soundproofed to prevent eavesdropping journalists and leaks of information, but once Georgia had opened the door, Destiny and Faye became aware of the fire alarm. "Upstairs, there's loads of smoke - I think there's a fire. Have you seen my stuff?" Georgia darted around the room. "Fuck your stuff, let's get out of here!" Destiny yelled, running for the door and leaving Faye behind. "I think she's right, Georgia. Adrian, come on, we've got to go!" She wasn't met with a response. |

Downstairs, Omar, who had gone further down the corridor to find the power supply room, finally discovered it with the aid of his cell phone.
Harriet, however, had decided to go outside and call for the fire brigade once she looked up and saw dark smoke on the top two floors (there's a ground and seven other floors okay). |

Realising that Georgia wasn't budging until she found her stuff, Faye gave up on her and began to go down the right hand side of the building - where Georgia herself had climbed just ten minutes before. She reached the first floor when she heard something cracking upstairs, and decided to rush for the rest of the course. On the ground now, she crashed into a woman and realised it was Iris.
"I filed those papers," she smiled, before realising that Faye's arm was bandaged. "What happened?" "We've got no time," Faye pushed her aside, "the building's on fire!" "Where are the others?" "Omar, Harry and Harriet are down here somewhere, Destiny's run off as well. I don't know! Get out!" Iris ignored her advice and ran back upstairs to try and find some way in which she could help. |
Iris you brave, brave person.

Finding the lovely Aaron Fowley sprawled on his front and with three bullet wounds in his back, Harry made a sound of pure disgust and realised that there was still a Killer in their midst. Was Damien innocent all along? Wild thoughts darted around his mind before realising he should run for safety, and, chucking the fire extinguisher to the side, he began his descent.
Around the fourth floor, he bumped into Adrian and Saul, who'd just left the waiting area. "Couldn't find the girls, they must have gone," Saul panted, running past Harry and with a flashlight in hand. Adrian soon followed, and Harry decided to join the crowd. Omar couldn't really make much sense of the control panel on the ground floor, but soon realised that the circuits had been tampered with, and that upstairs' fuses were all at ridiculously high voltages. Noting this to be the work of a saboteur, and one still inside the building, he also noticed that the power was on a timer, and that the time set for this all to go off was at 9:30. Figuring that the attacker could've done this at any time during the day, he resolved that there was no time to try and point the blame, let alone fix the damage, and decided to evacuate the building - but not before he turned on the sprinklers system, which that someone had also turned off. |

Georgia finally found her purse and in her hunt had grown quite oblivious to the incredibly dank, dense fumes that had reached her fourth floor. Realising there was no time like the present, she left the storage room and found the waiting room entirely engulfed in flames.
"Ah, piss," she sighed, and looked around desperately for an escape route. She thought she could see something in the distance and made her way towards it, with her body as close to the ground as possible, when a large slab of the ceiling caved in and crashed onto her torso. She screamed in pain, and blacked out for a while. At the second floor, Iris realised that the building was already too damaged and unsafe for her to proceed, and began to run back downstairs, trying carefully not to fall over in her heels. Outside, Adrian finally emerged and found Saul, Harriet and Destiny hugging and fearful. The girls squealed a little when they saw him and welcomed him, before Harriet fired off with the questions. "Where are the others?" "We just passed Harry," Adrian looked at Saul, who nodded, "he's on his way down. I didn't see anyone else - I thought they'd gone with you," he looked at Destiny. "Faye was taking so long, I was like - I ain't waitin' to turn into fried chicken. Y'know?" Destiny sucked her teeth and suddenly pointed at Faye and Harry, who both emerged from the building at the same time; Faye with her arms around him and a little bedraggled. They were soon joined by Omar, who rushed outside and informed them of the sabotage and that he couldn't do anything other than turn on the sprinklers. "So, someone else is trying to kill us?" Faye worried, looking around, "like, an accomplice? Of Damien?" "Maybe it wasn't that Omen bitch after all," Destiny resolved, "I told y'all!" "No you bloody didn't," Adrian sighed, as Iris ran out of the building blackened by smoke. She struggled and tried her utmost to move the thick, heavy slab of building off of her legs but couldn't, and as the flames grew nearer she grew delirious with the heat and smoke around her. Georgia resolved that maybe burning alive wasn't as bad as she'd once feared, and was almost at peace - when the first spark caught her arm. She screamed in agony, but no one heard her. |
