Stories about Wayne Rooney asking for a transfer are correct. Asked to see Ferguson two weeks ago, request was rejected #mufc

Daniel Taylor ‏@DTguardian 5m
To clarify from earlier tweet, it wasn't reported at the time as it wasn't known/confirmed until this evening

Gathering pace...

I think he's going to depart this summer. Usually with the media, when they continuously report something in football it tends to come true.

King Gizzard 08-05-2013 10:44 PM

Taylor/Ogden have been pretty spot on about all this stuff and he's saying it quite matter of factly..

If I was him I'd want to stay and beat the records

Evidently fell out of favour with Fergie and Moyes and him aren't exactly best friends. Had it been another manager I bet he'd of wanted to stay.

King Gizzard 08-05-2013 10:46 PM

Bayern would be very appealing to me if I was a player, would probably even take the pay cut (doubt they'd pay him what he's on at United, gotze is only on 150k there as it is)

King Gizzard 08-05-2013 10:46 PM

lol 'only'

Drew. 08-05-2013 10:47 PM

Rooney would be mad to turn down a move to Bayern, think Gomez is out this summer so it makes sense.. he'll also be playing in his preferred position

bbfan1991 08-05-2013 10:49 PM

It would be slightly amusing to see Rooney immerse himself in German culture and trying to learn the language if he goes to Bayern.

Drew. 08-05-2013 10:50 PM

i hope it happens, i want to try and follow German football next season and it'll be really good to see how he does in a different country

Brother Leon 08-05-2013 10:52 PM

**** German football. Sell him to MLS or keep him. :idc:

Well Rooney isn't on the £250,000 the media say he is. So they'd probably pay him around what's on now.
The issue I still see is Coleen. If he had no wife and no kids then it's an easy move really. If Coleen doesn't want to move then he's left with Chelsea and the backlash from United fans.
You never know though, Coleen may relocate. I don't mean this to sound bad but now her ill sister has passed she may be more willing to relocate as she never wanted to move away from her.

Another issue with a move to Bayern is of course playing time. The falling out of favour with Fergie is what has led to him wanting out. With the amount of options at Pep's disposal next season (some will leave but there will still be many options) he might go there and request yet another transfer lol.

Brother Leon 08-05-2013 11:18 PM

The irony if he has requested a transfer. Done it last time for lack of ambition. We sign Robin Van Persie and he requests one, because he is no longer first choice. Oh..Irony.

Drew. 08-05-2013 11:22 PM

how much is Rooney worth.. thats the question

He never said lack of ambition though. Well, not technically. This was something the media constantly said rather than him. Like the £250k BS. He said he didn't think we could attract top names anymore. Something a ton of our fans were saying at that very time.

And Drew, based on this season, £25 mil - £30 mil I guess. I would like to get £50 mil based on his talent and seemingly his season not being as good as last due to him wanting to leave.

Drew. 08-05-2013 11:26 PM

yeah, i would have said 25.. 30 at max

Ryan57 08-05-2013 11:28 PM

Offer to Real in part exchange for Ronaldo. Deep down Ronnie's dream is to play under David Moyes.

Shaun 08-05-2013 11:30 PM

lovely result tonight

now for us to cock up against a fighting Wigan <3

even more ironic lol.

and Drew, he's worth 30m minimum. We sell for less and I will not be pleased :joker:

bbfan1991 09-05-2013 12:03 AM

Danny Welbeck will be under pressure to be a goalscorer next season then LOL.

The same Journalist from the Daily Mail who has done the Rooney transfer request story Ian Ladyman was the same person who did an article a few weeks ago saying that WR wanted to stay at United and a new contract. Hmm?

King Gizzard 09-05-2013 12:07 AM

ladyman lol lol

King Gizzard 09-05-2013 12:07 AM

Welbz to Spurz

bbfan1991 09-05-2013 12:08 AM

Emmanuel Adebayor impressed me tonight for Spurs at Chelsea, he will leave them in the Summer anyway LOOOL.

Hopefully Wigan will be tired after the FA Cup Final and lose to Arsenal, Shaun:evilgrin:.

Plus the papers claim to have quotes from United saying that Rooney is not for sale when if United were to comment it would be via their website or in a press conference...
